hey fellow hunters,

this weekend is it for me, last weekend of the last season. i hate to say it, but i am starting to get burnt out of hunting for the year. its been a great year for me too, i have shot 3 nice bucks, and definately can't complain about not seeing deer. but hunting has consumed me for every weekend since late august. and has consumed my mind during the work weeks. does anyone else get this way????

Our season is over the end of january ,,,, Its very hard for me to sit here at work now that it is finally cold, i'm out 2-3 x's a week and will never get burned out from hunting too much. Wife has learned not to be picky when thngs need to be done when it gets cold out..... Honey doo chores get done on sundays grin.gif

Shotgun season ends this Sunday for us, then it is muzzleloader and late archery. Hopefully I'll get a buck for my shotgun tag these last few days....Wasn't a bad season overall - got a buck and doe with bow and a doe with shotgun, and I broke my 2 year buck drought so that is a bonus:) Good luck everyone!!

Re: Who is starting to wrap thier seasons up?

well....i have been thinking about it for a week or so, my goal for this year was to get my first deer, and i did that opening week of gun season, along with my deer, my cousin took 3 this season, one during the youth weekend hunt and 2 during opening week of gun season, so we have 4 deer sitting in the freezer, he keeps most of his meat in our freezer since him, my dad, and I are the only ones that eat it. so i have been thinkin i might just pull my stands and blind and let the ones out there grow another year...seen about a 1-1/2 or 2-1/2 year old buck out there, i had already decided to let him go after i got my gun buck, and have seen 5 does out there also, and no one has taken any deer off of this propertty (we hunt a different property in the UP for gun opener) and it hasn't been pressured to much, so i think we might go out one morning for a final hunt, and then start pulling stands while we are there.

I still have some bow season, another gun season, and late muzzleload season. I'm not too enthusiastic about them, though.

I am already starting preparations for next season.

My season ended a couple weeks ago when we filled the 9th of or 10 tags for the year. I still have 1 antlerless only archery tag left, but I don't figure I will fill that one. But you never know, the urge may return before the WI archery season officially ends January 7th.
