c_lou
Ted Lilly - 4 years $40million to a guy who is a career .500 pitcher with arm trouble. The happiest guy in America should be Barry Zito. He will get a nice pay bump because of the stupidness of the Cubs. I am a 30 year old right hander. I can hit the mid 30's mph. I think I will call the Cubs.

MCH
Re: Cubs...WHAT THE &*^#? That's actually lower than they were expecting. When we signed Schmidt for $16 mil. a year, everyone said that it was cheap because they figured that's what Lilly and Meche would be getting. Salaries are getting crazy everywhere. [/ QUOTE ] No doubt about that.Somethings gotta give sooner or later. Shoot,I would love to just be a middle reliever.....pitch to 2 or 3 batters every other night and make a couple mill a year. [/ QUOTE ] When someone asks my 3 year old boy what he wants to be when he grows up, he says, "I'm gonna play centerfield for the Dodgers." When my little girl gets old enough to talk, she'll say, "I'm gonna marry a Dodger starting pitcher."

colts1888
Re: Cubs...WHAT THE &*^#? Cubs fan here and im not a big fan of Hendry. A career .500 pitcher with arm troubles is just the way Jimmy boy likes them. I see he signed Kerry Wood to an extension. Thats another great move. 25 games pitched the last 2 years, only 4 last year. Hurt all the time. Now they want him coming in out of the pen. Not the type of guy i want coming into a tie game in the 8th with his control. Soriano is a pretty good player, and they resigned Ramirez, but they still will have hard time winning becuase there pitching staff is still junk. They will have to outslug people. double_drop
Re: Cubs...WHAT THE &*^#? I will agree Jim Hendry is an idiot. They needed to get rid of him and dusty baker at the same time.

I must admit, winning the season series is like winning the World Series for Cubs fans. You gotta hang your hat on something when you have no hope! double_drop
Re: Cubs...WHAT THE &*^#? I am just sticking with my team other than being a fair weather fan like most people these days. The cubs and the Bears that is the way i roll. I will stick with them through thick and thin.
Randyman
Re: Cubs...WHAT THE &*^#? I was a Cardinals fan in he 60's when they were good, in the 70's when they stunk, in the 80's when they were good, in the 90's when they stunk, and in this century when they were good. No "fair weather" fan here. No "fair weather" Cardinal fan would bother to hate the Cubs as much as i do!
