arrow32
I got my first ever ML Thursday night. My mom and dad gave it to me as a Birthday present. Now i have problems. What do you guys think i should shoot out of it. Im going to see if John can take me and show me how to shoot some and stuff. My uncle said i need to shoot 50 shots threw it to get the barrel seasoned in a little. Its a Knight 50 cal.

PA_RIDGE_RUNNER
Re: First muzzleloader I own a knight bighorn which is very close to yours. I do not shoot any of those super loads but can get submoa at 100 yds with 80 gr of Goex 2F and a Hornady 300 GR XTP in a Harvester crush rib sabot. It shot the 240 Gr XTPS well too. wtnhunt
Re: First muzzleloader Congrats on the new ml Cody. I have shot loose pyrodex rs and american pioneer gold from my black diamond. Going to try 777 sometime, but I would not suggest the ap powder. With the pyrodex, a 120 grain powder charge and the tc 240 grain xtp mags, I get great accuracy and good performance with my setup. If you have not already read them, would read the bluelk chapters in here pinned at the top. Some great information in there.

[/ QUOTE ] I might have forgot, but how come you you don't care for the ap powder ? too_ [/ QUOTE ] Mike, my accuracy with the american pioneer is not as good as with the pyrodex rs. I am probably going to try some triple 7 after I use up the rs.
johnf
Re: First muzzleloader I use 777 loose powder and like it because you can have a custom load. I shoot T/C Shockwaves with very good results. Guys, do you really have to season a barell when your using sabots? I wouldn't think the plastic would ever do anything to the rifling other than clogging it up after awhile.
