Shawn
Last week i shot a spiker then shot the doe with him, After walking up to the doe i realized it was a 2 1/2 year old buck which snapped both his antlers off messing with someone he shouldnt have. And i said to myself its too early for the young bucks to be huddling up already. So this morning im at my usually spot, and up walks a 4 pointer, and 2 spikers. Is anyone else in ny noticing these young bucks are grouping up together already? i have never seen them do this while its still shotgun season. Tomorrow is the last day of shotgun, hopefully ill see bubba. good luck yall.
Swamphunter
Re: Bucks in Ny Shawn if you read my post in my journal (latest entry), this is exactly what I saw on Thursday. A spike and a BB together. I definitely think it is starting already.
Guest HaDeRonDa
Re: Bucks in Ny The rut was over, over a month ago. Sure the second is under way/ almost over too but less dominant bucks are doing their thing. Shot one today with my Omega and will be out tomorrow to fill a doe tag. I hope. Turkeygirl
Re: Bucks in Ny Last day of shotgun here, sadly. We spent it at the neighbors land, slept overnight at his cabin. Three of us sat this morning, saw nothing. The neighbor and I sat in stands, andy did some pushing, saw nothing! The land has alot of does and some niceb ucks but not sure where they went, it was weird. And the land we normally hunt at home, well theb ucks dissappeared after the opener of shotgun, due mainly to the other neighbors(not the same as the one we hunted with) who do insane drives and push the deer all over and shoot at them running all out. I only saw one buck during shotgun, a spike, and I hit a tree instead:( I'm hoping to get out a little during late archery....

Guest Danbo
Re: Bucks in Ny Most of the tracks I've seen are made a night. They are moving very early and after 5pm. Not much to be seen in between.

RangerClay
Re: Bucks in Ny My group had a great day this past Saturday. I didn't get one myself but deer were moving everywhere. Our group put two small bucks and a big doe in the freezer. I sure hated putting the slugs away for 11 months
