Guest Galimbhanger Posted December 10, 2006 Report Share Posted December 10, 2006 after five years I finally got a niccun this mornig I'm just now relizing just how lucky I am when I saw him all I saw was the left side od his rack, he was about 80yrds and his head was in the last hole I could shoot through, the hole was about 1 and a half feet wide, I stood up and put my gun on him and about 10-15 minutes later he finally made the step I'd been waiting on. if he would have made one more he would have been gone, I shot and ran off. I heard him crash through some palmettos and I didn't here any thing else so I thought I got him but when I got down and looked around where he was I could see where my bullet grazed a tree he was by and I could still smell the tarsel glands, when there was no blood or hair I started getting worried (it started bring back bad memories of when I shot my first deer my 9 point when I was 11, after shooting him we didn't find any blood and we didn't find him till the next week) it was a bad feeling I could already see the nitemare I was going to have after looking for awhile my dad wistle to me and went I got to him he said he found some hair when we walk over there there was my deer about 100yrds from my stand, I was in shock I knew he was big but I didn't think he was that big, when I looked at him I noticed there wasn't an exit hole which meens the bullet glazed the tree and still hit him. I'm still alittle in shock I haven't seen a deer with antlers outside the ears since my 9 point 5 years ago and the fact that he's that big and I'm in Georgia Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
