8ptbuckpa
When Calculating a B&C score do you add all the Spread Measurements? And how do you determine the Spread Credit?

IowaDeerHunter
Re: Green Score whitetails The only spread credit you get is the greatest inside spread. Measured from the largest area inside the main beams.

Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Green Score whitetails There is only 1 spread measurement (credit). Take that measurement on the inside of the widest point between the two mainbeams. Now measure the length of each mainbeam. If the spread is wider than the longest mainbeam is long, use the length of the longest mainbeam as the spread measurement.
Straight Shooter
Re: Green Score whitetails No, you do not get the tip to tip spread or the outside spread measurement. It is just the inside spread and like stated above, the insde spread cannot exceed the mainbeam lengths. If your inside spread is 24" and the mainbeams are 22", you only get 22" for the inside spread. SCI gives you what you got, Buckmasters doesn't give you an inside spread they call that air between the antlers.
Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Green Score whitetails [ QUOTE ] you do not get the tip to tip spread or the outside spread measurement [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I haven't figured out why B&C has those entries on their score sheets since they don't get added to the gross or net scores???? All those entries do is add a confusion factor to people who are unfamiliar with the scoring system.

Thanks for your help. the buck in my avatar scores 133 6/8 B&C pts (roughly) not bad for Pennsylvania
Straight Shooter
Re: Green Score whitetails I understand that as well. It is the same way on the P&Y score sheets. My 10 point has got 18" outside and 12" tip to tip. I guess it gives them a better prospective at the headquarters when they are looking at the photos are the rack and deer. I had a guy around here trying to add all the spread measurements as well. It kind of busted his bubble when I told him he lost about 20" off his score. LOL FYI, I just put that in red so it would be seen by the orignal poster, I wasn't angry or anything.
