Randy
I need to replace a few older hang-on stands. Are there any stands on the market that do not have padded seats? The squirrels seem to love them and I hate sitting on a wet seat as I leave them up for the season.

MUDRUNNER
Re: Squirrel Proof Seats I have a Hunters View Razorback that has a padded seat over steel mesh with some clips that you can just unclip it and take with you when you leave. I feel your pain,I have an API with the tuck and fold seat that's about half chewed up.

Then you'll have crow crap and feathers all over the place. One thing always leads to another eh.

I actually bought the stand from Rural King,it's kinda a fleet and farm store. The stand is really a pretty good for the money.I think I paid like $40 bucks for it after last hunting season was over and the left overs were on sale. Guest Finn
Re: Squirrel Proof Seats Randy, I have an ol' man ladder stand that just has the web seat. I carry in a 1/2" foam "hot seat" thing to sit on an it works great. Not sure, but I think Gorilla bought out Ol Man and has those mesh seats now. Ravin R10 man
Re: Squirrel Proof Seats squirrels really love my tree lounges...I must have a pound of acorns hulls to empty out every time..as long as they dont chew up my padding they can use it. Guest Basinboy
Re: Squirrel Proof Seats Randy, I've heard good things about http://millenniumstands.com/ They have a sling seat like on the Tree Lounge. I never sat in one though.
Strut10
Re: Squirrel Proof Seats River's Edge Bigfoot also has a removable padded seat. It's got 2 loops of nylon strap each with a snap-buckle. You just un-do one buckle, slide the other loop over the seat frame tubing and buckle the second strap. I just take it off & buckle it to the loop on my backpack when I leave. Squirrels don't get a shot at it and you've always got a dry place to park your rump. Rhino
Re: Squirrel Proof Seats [ QUOTE ] Randy, I've heard good things about http://millenniumstands.com/ They have a sling seat like on the Tree Lounge. I never sat in one though. [/ QUOTE ] I have 3 of the New Millennium hang on stands on 1 of their 20' ladder stands. I've had the hang on stands for about 4 or 5 years now. They came out with the ladders this year so I bought 1 to try it out. So far the squirrels have not chewed on any these seats at all. They will leave some acorn hulls behind for you to clean up though. I've never sat in a treestand that is more comfortable than these stands. That includes Summit, Old Man, Loggy Bayou, and Hunters View stands along with some others that aren't around anymore. You'll need a cushion for colder weather for warmth when using these stands though. As my other stands wear out, they will be replaced with these stands. I'll buy at least 2 more of their 20' ladders before next year.
