STEP OUT OF THE CIRCLE.......

I've been a Mathews Man for 10 years now.....have shot many bows in between.....but the prices lately and all of the advertising hype had me deciding last year to take a step away from all of that.......to find something a little different......something a little cheaper.....and maybe, just maybe something that could possibly be better for what i like.........besides I always like being the oddball........well i found a bow company that is restructuring and has a line-up that is looking awesome........and there 2007 line-up looks even better.......

If you are serious about bowhunting, you have got to do some research on the bows from Pearson !!!! I don't know how they've escaped my attention for so long.......maybe cause we don't have a dealer withing 350 miles of me, LOL.......I'm hoping to change that, by contacting my local pro-shop.

I've held on in model in my hand, the Legacy, and it is like the perfect combination between a Hoyt and a Mathews..........except Pearsons prices will make your jaw drop......

And their new eye-popper that is really gonna blow you away is the Z32 and Z34......a bow with well over 7" of brace heigth, that generates the speeds it does, is amazing.........even for us short draw shooters.......28" draw at 70lbs and an arro 20 grains over IBO, still generated over 290FPS !!!! shocked.gif

I'm telling you guys.......step out of the box and away from the ever increasing prices of the major manufacturers......Pearson has restructured and refocused.......I think they deserve a checking out....I know I'll be owning one...I just sold my Switchback to make that happen...... smile.gif

Re: STEP OUT OF THE CIRCLE.......

I too have been a fan of Mathews for many years. Last year I got a great deal on a Pearson bow that I couldn't pass up. It was a brand new bow, but an older model. It was a diamondback VX. I could not belive how quite this bow was. Out of all the bows I have owned over the years, that pearson still has to be the most smooth and quite. Great company and great bows.

Re: STEP OUT OF THE CIRCLE.......

As far as the prices, someone has to pay for that advertising. 1300.00 like mentioned above is just rediculous. I am really considering dropping my Hoyt after this year and going for something slightly cheaper. Most of the bows now are just as good if not better. Problem is my local proshop is all hoyt and I hate to drive all over to get work done on a bow.

Re: STEP OUT OF THE CIRCLE.......

I think we have finally seen where when a bow costs more than a new transmission in your truck or a down payment on a car, something's got to change. I spent the most money on a bow with my used Outback. I love my bow but this is it. I'm keeping it until it won't shoot anymore.

Re: STEP OUT OF THE CIRCLE.......

I like this post. I wish more people would apply a bit of common sense on their expenditures. Perhaps if this kind of revolt became a bit more widespread (and maybe it will), the prices of the hoyts and Mathews bows would come back down to reality. As long as so many people are willing to be swayed by the hype, the prices will keep going up and up.

I am applying a different kind of revolt, or "stepping out of the circle" in a different way. I want to see just how long my Mathews MQ-32 will last. I used to buy a new bow just because I thought that I might be missing something new. For the price of a new bow, I think I can probably forego that kind of nonsense. My current bow shoots just fine and it kills deer. If it holds up mechanically, there really is no sensible reason to buy another one.......ever.

Re: STEP OUT OF THE CIRCLE.......

Pearson had been on the down side of archery for the last few years and a few years prior to that. Coleman had bought them out, I shot Pearson bows up until then, the quality went down hill fast. I've looked at the new line up and they look awesome. Clay I don't think you could go wrong with one of these new bows.

As far as the circle, I haven't dropped my garlic necklace, so I can't get into it. Darn the luck! LOL

I stepped out of the circle. I went and bought an 07 Martin Bengal for $400. The greatest $400 I have ever spent. Plus it is one sweet bow.

Good choice. The Bengal along with FB's Instinct, they both can easily compete with bows around $1k.

Re: STEP OUT OF THE CIRCLE.......

The more we spend the big money the more they will artificially drive the prices up. That is, until the sales just start to drop.

Then they will come out with a "better" model and stick it right to us again.

Don't forget other companies that exist.

I just sold my Martin Magcat and am looking for something new as well. I'm thinking about buying used but new, yet modern.

Re: STEP OUT OF THE CIRCLE.......

I never stepped into the circle. My most expensive bow to date was a PSE Carrol Dominator 3d. I bought that bow in the early 90's. Its only downside is that it is a bit heavy. A two cam bow it still shoots lightning fast. Is super accurate. It still kills deer.

I have had a couple others since with none being more or even close to the price of the Matthews and Hoyts through that time. A McPhearson Sololite and a Parker Ultra 35. Both were good bows. Both killed deer.

I went and and bought a Newberry Sabre XL for half the price of the Matthews XT and Hoyt Trykon and I could not be happier. It is light, fast, accurate and it too, kills deer. shocked.gif

Could never understand all the hoopla over these wallet draining bows. P T Barnum was right!
