Re: What powder

trip 7 hasn't been all so clean shootin for me,but its gun by gun! i think i am having breach pulg opening problems with my gun so it isn't been a true test as of yet. my buddy likes hodgens powder himself. you gotta play with it cody and see what your set up likes! no 2 ml will shoot the same!

Re: What powder

I have used Goex 2 and 3f for many years. This is in a flintlock so the real stuff is the best in that application as it has the lowest ignition temperature. I have tried both pyrodex and APP and did not find them to be any better accuracy wise than Goex. I have stuck with Goex in my flinters, sidelock and inline and those dead deer have not complained.

Re: What powder

Goex ffg as well.

I prefer it due to it's consistancy from one can to the next.

The price per shot is great as well.

Loose might I add!!!

If you have to clean house might as well get right into it and not just do a little dusting. The real stuff is not like dusting but more like cleaning.

Re: What powder

I started out with the Hodgen pellets with plans to switch to 777 to more precisely tailor a load. Well needless to say I have not switched yet. With the pellets my gun is extremely accurate and I see no need to switch to loose powder, just more stuff to carry around in your bag. Check walmart they have the loose powder for a great price right now, both Hodgen and 777

Re: What powder

I use Triple "7" FFG in my Black Diamond M/L. My load is 90 grains (Volume) with a Hornady XTP .452" 250 grainer in a high pressure sabot, fired by a 209 shotgun primer. I took a nice Spike Buck this past Thursday (Dec. 14th) at 75 yards. Shot him through the lungs and he dropped in his tracks.
