browning_gold_12
did anyone notice that the font of the number 3 was different in the commercials and ads for the movie than it is on the car? i read in another post that the movie did not have the blessing of the Earnhart family. could it have been some sort of copyright problem? just an observation. what do you guys think? snapper
Re: new \"3\" question... Richard Childress (I believe) still owns that #3. I wouldn't see why he would object since they had him involved in the movie.
texastrophies
Re: new \"3\" question... [ QUOTE ] And the film was made without the cooperation of Earnhardt's widow, Teresa, who had early discussions with the network but did not reach an agreement. Junior, who spent time with Pepper and shared stories about his father, has seen the movie but stopped short of offering a review. "I know our whole organization would rather have been more involved in something down the road," he said, "but I think Earnhardt fans will probably like it." That's not the case with car owner Richard Childress, who fielded the No. 3 Chevrolets that Earnhardt raced. "I'm not excited about it," Childress said. "In my opinion, ESPN didn't go about it right. Number one, it's unauthorized. I just don't think it was handled very professional on ESPN's part." [/ QUOTE ] This was in an article about the movie, doesn't sound like they approved of it.
