Strut10
How do you "wax your dirt"?? I think that somehow you combine grated wax in with the dirt covering/bedding a dirthole set, right?? But what's the actual method??

Strut10
Re: ??? for dirt trappers [ QUOTE ] Why do you need dry dirt? [/ QUOTE ] To evenly cover the traps. It's hard to sift mud and dry dirt doesn't freeze as easily or solidly.
sureshot
Re: ??? for dirt trappers what I always did was put wax paper over the pan only, then sift dirt overtop, I did not get much chance to use dirt seeing it was usually snow and if there wa snot snow the ground wa susually froze dry so not sure I am much help, there are also pan covers you can buy but not sure how it would work with muddy ground!! let me know what you find otu would be interesting!! BTW I am going to my fur buyers next week, he used to work for the govermemt testing areas for migratory bird populations and trapping, he would trap within 1/2 mile of huge sloughs and keep the coyote pop down an dthe goverment would compare the population of chicks to areas not traped, he knows his stuff, I will run it by him for you!
