Straight Shooter
Re: broadhead ? Show him the light, Finn! LOL I'm not a big mech. fan, but love those Muzzy's. As for mech.-heads, I would recommend a head that the blades slide rearward instead of rolling back. Sevral of these types of heads on the market, Snyper XP3, Tekan II, Rage, Satelite Dead Ringers, are few.

Guest Hunter36
Re: broadhead ? I use the Montec 100grain heads. For me and my setup they fly great. they are a one piece broadhead! Go to a bow shop and ask how you can try different ones out or just experiment some and try them on your own.

Smitteken
Re: broadhead ? Go with the muzzys. They're tough, inexpensive, readily available every where, easy to tune, and super easy to change the blades on. I switched last year and love them. Hoyt03
Re: broadhead ? Mechanical spitfires are awesome broadheads, Some people will always say mechanicals sometime wont open but that is MUD . There is no way possible they could not open. Plus they fly like your field points so no extra tuning for when its time to screw on the broadheads.

Swamphunter
Re: broadhead ? I have been using mechanicals for several years now and they do wicked damage. I don't think them "not opening", was the concern so much as people were worried about deflection with shots from certain angles. That is simply avoided by purchasing broadheads that open rearward as opposed to over the top style broadheads. Good luck to you. Take a look at Rage and Rocky Mountain. Both great broadheads, and I can say from expereince, the Rocky Mountain Synper 3 blade are killin' machines!

[ QUOTE ] Mechanical spitfires are awesome broadheads, Some people will always say mechanicals sometime wont open but that is MUD . There is no way possible they could not open. [/ QUOTE ] ok i agree that the spitfires are a great product cause they are made by NAP good company, and many of my friends shoot them and they are one of few mechanical heads i have yet to heard bad things about, but when you say that there is no way a mechanical can not open, i do not believe that cause i have heard a few stories from friends about how their mechanicals did not deploy during impact, their is always room for a malfunction if the blades are not fixed
wtnhunt
Re: broadhead ? I shoot 100 grain 3 blade muzzy's and have been very happy with them. They fly great, use the practice blades for practice, they hit the same as the razor sharp hunting blades.
Guest Smity
Re: broadhead ? need2hunt
Re: broadhead ? I shot the G5 Striker this last season plus some of my G5 Montecs. I'm planning to be using the Strikers for a while, they fly great and with the new blades there is no sharpness issue like there was IMO with the montecs. Widowmaker
Re: broadhead ? Last year I switched to NAP spitfires and they do fly just like a field tip. The one deer last year and the two from this year that I took in archery with the spitfires never went more than 30 yards. I think they are great!
