LETMGROW
Re: Low Light food plots? Secret Spot from "Whitetail Institute" might be a good choice. The ad's say it only requires 2-4 hours of daily sunlight. Soil requirements are 5.5-7.5. Quite broad to say the least, I would still shoot for the magic 7 though. We planted some late in the summer, Aug. 23 and we were very pleased with the results.
dogdoc
Re: Low Light food plots? i have never planted the Secret Spot but many food plotters have been happy with the product. I've had pretty good success using Red Clover in low sunlight areas. I planted it no-till--just got a rake and cleaned up as much debris as possible and broadcasted the seed right after a heavy rain. The exposed soil was so wet that when the seed hit the ground it kind of "stuck" in the mud--I was surprised at how well it germinated. todd
