Calling When Conditions are Less Than Favorable

Over the past few years, its not been easy to get a "perfect" day to go calling. Here in West Texas we usually have to deal with a stiff wind no matter what time of year it is. Don't let the less than favorable conditions keep you at the house!!!!

Sureshot has proven many times that getting out in horrible calling weather has been very profitable. Me and a buddy went calling last Friday night. Conditions were clear skies, 20 mph south wind and a full moon. We had decided to go at the last minute that evening and then after getting set up and ready, I noticed the conditions were not in our favor. We made 6 stands and only 2 of them were dry. I was surprised. Then I recalled reading one of sureshots posts that described calling in 30 mph winds and it being -30 degrees. Granted your not going to be able to make as many stands under these conditions, but its worth getting off the couch and giving it a try every now and then. You might have to change up your tactics during less than favorable weather calling, but thats no big deal.

Keep after them!!!!
