Be honest, be respectful, and be yourself. Communicate what you want for your lease money and make sure both of you know the exact terms.

I don't have a clue what hunting land leases for in your state, but good hunting property around here is typically $3 - $5 per acre for an exclusive year round, all legal species lease. My 7000 acre lease is $25,000 annually.

Re: how do I go about...

I was just thinking about this this morning!

I plan to try and get permission to hunt some new land myself this off season.

I would probably go talk to them in person.

My question is how do I find out who owns a piece of property I would like to hunt?Is there an online source or do I have to go to the library and look at plat maps?

Re: how do I go about...

i know that there is a way to see who owns exactly what land at the local library or county office.

i also suggest that you go talk to the owner in person. make sure you are presentable. i am also looking to gain some extra land for next archery season. this winter and spring i will be out talking to a lot of local land owners.

im planning on leasing next year as well for the first time. Theres a guy where i live that owns a lot of land and leases it for cheap. They say you can get 300 acres for around 1000 a year including taxes.
