_MD_
2006 is almost in the books and states are starting to prepare of the 2007 hunting season. I have been hashing over my Wyoming hunt book for a couple of weeks now. What hunts are you all thinking of trying for? I think I have had 2007 planned since Thanksgiving, it goes something like this. Celebrate New Years by doing some Bison hunting in West Yellowstone. When I get back I will look over my AZ application then send it in. Common archery elk. In February analyze and try to out think the Wyoming draw system then apply for deer, again. I have had my unit picked out for awhile now. No longer going for the famed 102 on to bigger and better deer. As I wait for spring I have plans to go glass some sheep units. I have two picked out just want to see the animals in both before I send in my check. As spring rolls in apply for the local turkey tag which is about impossible to draw. By now it will be April and I will be applying for sheep, moose and goat. With all the bonus points I have for moose I hope to get one this year. Now its May and I'll be sending in my Montana apps for deer, elk and archery antelope. By the time the last week of August hits I should be hunting. Besides the Montana tags I really hope for an AZ or WY draw. 2007 has the potential to be a great year but I am still keeping my fingers crossed. Late doe season here in IL in January plus still a little upland game hunting. Spring turkey hunting in Missouri and Illinois Have a Texas hog hunt already paid for this year, just have to figure out when I'm going can get 2 hogs an audad and any predators (bobcat, badger, coyote and I think 2 other predators - I'm really hoping for a bobcat!!) Then deer season for IL with the possibility of going to Missouri for archery deer and fall turkey. Would like to get into some duck hunting this year as well as get a little bit of upland game in. dg
Re: * * * 2007 * * * What are planning... to hunt? I recently moved to Alabama. My goal is to figure a new piece of public land. I like challenges vs a hand-held or "I've been here for years" hunt.
Turkeygirl
Re: * * * 2007 * * * What are planning... to hunt? Well small game until it ends in February, but of course Shed antler hunting, then spring turkey in May. I'm going to have to really scout this year as I think I'm going to end up driving to state land, maybe even 40 minutes away, to try and break my 3 year turkeyless streak. That's basically it until deer season again.

OJR
Re: * * * 2007 * * * What are planning... to hunt? With these old bones getting older, I probably won't be buying anymore tags for anything! I am still signed up for a depredation tag for an elk until June 30, 2007 but that is all. Being as I got my first hunting license 55 years ago, I have gotten to the point where I don't really enjoy it like I used to and it is really hard for me to do much walking, field dressing and skinning an animal. I have taken enough critters in my life and more than likely will just get a fishing license for 2007. The fire is gone when it comes to hunting. Several years ago, I was talking to my second cousin and my uncle. My second cousin made the comment that he is done hunting because he had killed enough! I thought at the time he must be kidding. Now that I have reached that stage in my life, I fully understand what he was talking about! To everyone out there, please keep at it and enjoy hunting as long as you can and want to. arrow32
Re: * * * 2007 * * * What are planning... to hunt? Nothing really new for me. Ill start out the new year on the ending of small game hunting till about Feb. Then finishing up my coyote hunting also. Turkey season starts in May so that will take up a couple weeks. After that its not a hole lot trying to get the money so i can hunt Ohio next year which i know i will be. Might start bowfishing this summer other than that just the norm. Thinking about trying to get over to the mountians and do a bear hunt.
