hangunnr
Found this elswhere on the net. Can give you a good idea on how a custom project would look before shelling out the big bucks. 1911 builder hangunnr
bowana
Re: Create your own 1911 Yes, it is cheaper to build your own. I own a Wilson Combat (CQB) that costs around $2400. You can buy a Sprinfield Armory 1911 "loaded" model for around $850.00. This pistol already comes with an adjustable speed trigger and other goodies you won't have to add. Drop in a beveled mag well, extended slide release (if you want one, they can be difficult to match with holsters) nite sites, custom barrel and matching bushing and link (very important-the heart and soul of a great 1911-Nowak makes a great one!) light weight hammer and custom grips. Including Gun Smith fees, you can probably stay in the $1350-1450 range. Of course we are talking a primo piece.
