Your first matched set?

So what was your first matched set of shed antlers? Here is a photo of mine:

I found this the first spring I started looking for sheds, basically my first antlers ever really. I had found a really old, chewed up one in our woods, but these were basically my first, found on the same day not too far from each other. Small 6 point set, I have a quarter there to show just how small they are, lol. That spot I found them in which was some hemlocks, has been bulldozed and used by the town as the woods bordered the town gravel pit. Ok, lets see photos of your first matched set. smile.gif

Re: Your first matched set?

The bottom two are matched sets and strangely enough they were both found on the same day, on the same ridge, and within 50 yards of each other. Each side was within 10 feet of the other side. I can not remember which set I found first. The only other matched set I've found was nestled together as if the buck bent his head down and they simply dropped off at the same time and also on the same ridge as the other two.

Re: Your first matched set?

My first set was the first two sheds I found back in 1988 that is the year I started to look for them.I was walking through a bedding area when I seen three deer coming down in so I stoped and watched them.As they came closer their was a doe being chased by two bucks one was a seven point and the other was a spike. So the following week I went back to the bedding area and found my first shed ever it was one side from the spike. The nwxt week I went back in and found the other side to the spike and had my first set they were the only sheds I found my first year.

Re: Your first matched set?

your going to make me cry with this post my first and only matched set of shed antlers were a 160 class buck i found the 2 antlers 30 yards apart in the edge of a clover field i was hard up for money at the time so i sold the set for $110, and can't find any pics of them but last year i found a dead deer that had died from either natural causes or had been shot i'll post a pic of him asap you won't believe this deer promise he's only 4 1/2 inches wide and somewhere around 11 inches tall he has 10 scorable points!
