flyrod64
My wife has been hunting with me for 2 years now. At first she would only ground hunt, I finally got her to try stand hunting and she loves it. Now she is ready to try out a climbing stand. My question is what type of stand you ladies prefer. She is 5'5" and 110lbs. I don't want to weigh her down and she needs to feel secure in it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Guest TnLadyhunter
Re: Question for you ladies Well I am 5'3 and 110 lbs so maybe my advice will help! I love my Summit Viper, I hunt on my own and my summit is easy to carry, set up, take down and perfect to hunt out of! I am very happy with it! It is lightweight and Summit has alot of different styles to suit anyone. Any other questions feel free to ask. Remember light and easy setup are key! But safety is key also! M00N
Re: Question for you ladies I personally am in love with the Equalizer. It's one the sit down style climbers with a lot of stafety features in it. It allows you as you're climbing to level the stand at any time to keep the stand level while going up the tree. The stand is also only 20lbs. If I ever get myself a climbing tree stand and put my ladder stand away I'd definately be saving my money for the Equalizer. A friend of mine has one and I sat in it and fell in love. Let's just say I won't be happy climbing up a tree in anything else now, he spoiled me. I did try a few Summits when looking around recently and wasn't nearly as impressed in the welding jobs on them as when compared to this stand. He loves his summit It doesn't have a shooting rail and it weighs 14 lbs. Mine does and it weighs 21 I think.

I know many people that are happy with them. I just was not happy with them and fell in love with the other stand much more. All was just personal opinion from trial and error. Guest Huntergirl
Re: Question for you ladies Any kind of climber I realy like those. Nice and easy to climb. Try to get one with rails on the side (like arm rests) And make sure to get her a safety harness!!! A freind of ours fell out of her stand monday night and has a broken back and two broken wrists.
