Hardwood_HD
I shot this pumpkin this evening with my 17. i shot it 3 times from about 40yrds and was amazed with the size of the exit holes, then after the 3 shots i went back to 100yds to shoot it but it didnt go all the way thru so i cut it in half and found the bullet in 2 pieces. i was really amazed with the size of the exit holes from the CCI TNT Hollow Points i used...heres a couple pics... sorry there so big i dont know how to make them smaller Three shots from 40yrds closer of the three exit holes This is the 2 pieces of the bullet shot from 100yrds

Shaun_300
Re: 17 HMR exit holes I'm liking that 17 HMR more and more, I may end up buying one yet. Shooting pumpkins is a blast, just before deer season we go collect the jack-o-lanterns door to door just after halloween. Fill them up with bags of water and set them out across a swamp at 275-300 yards and blast at them with the rifles, talk about fun. You sure know when you hit them too, looks like you stuck a bomb in them...
Guest ronin
Re: 17 HMR exit holes Did the bullet fragment? It looks like I see one or a part in the last pic.
LETMGROW
Re: 17 HMR exit holes I sure hope you shooting those pumpkins doesn't start another debate on wearing hunter orange. LOL!!!
Hardwood_HD
Re: 17 HMR exit holes yea ronin the bullet ripped in half, for some reason the tip didnt expand on that one and it just ripped, the tip is on the left and the butt of it is on the right, almost looks like the butt shot back to the right from the path it left.. i shot an unopened can of pop today with it wow that was sweet
LETMGROW
Re: 17 HMR exit holes Try this! I like to fill empty 1 gal. milk jugs with water and shooting them. Amazing what the shock of a bullet will do. At 100 yds. an '06 will shatter the jug. Not quite so impressive with my .17 but fun [ and cheap ] just the same. I just had a thought! I'm going to start a post about this! Check it out
