Deb Posted December 22, 2006 Report Share Posted December 22, 2006 I hope this works. I've been hunting in Ohio (my home state) for 5 years and I finally got one! Second day of gun season, at 5:30am I decide that I'm going out. I get to the property at a few minutes after first light and spotlite a doe in the field, off she goes. As I'm getting out the gun and pulling the shells from the back of the truck and the doe and 2 others have gone through the woods and came down the adjasent field towards me. It's plenty light and I'm all fumble-fingers trying to load the gun. Of course, they're in the neighboring property by the time the gun is loaded![image]http://www.realtree.com/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/20107/size/big/cat/[/image] I'm grumbling at myself for not getting the woods earlier and deside to sit in the tree right next to my truck since I'm sure that I've just scared everything out of the area. Well, about 8 am this boy comes out at 50 yards, I throw some lead and miss and he just stands there(nice of me to give a warning shot).I take another shot and I drop him in his tracks. He weighed around 200 and the check-in guys think that he was probably 2 1/2 years old. I'm one happy camper, bunny with the bow and a deer with the shotgun.
