This only a week after news broke that the DA in the case conspired with the DNA lab manager to not report the fact that no DNA from the players was found relating to the girl. Sorry folks, this case stinks. This DA used the racial parts of this case to win election knowing that the girl couldn't identify the men who supposedly attacked her, told vastly differing stories, identified people that weren't even there, the DA provided an illegal lineup using only DUKE players, and then you have all the conflicting behavior of the woman. There was no rape and I hope that DA is disbarred, sued, and prosecuted! This case stinks and I hope this is the first step in it falling apart. I read more and after the DNA evidence showed no sign of these three players but DNA from MULTIPLE OTHER men, the lady copped to not being sure of the nature of the attack. Yet the way she described the attack, you would certainly not be mistaken about the nature of it nor degree. She hasn't told the truth and the DA used the white black thing to get reelected in a town where there are two very prestigious colleges that are hated by the poor black locals. That's fact. If you really research the case and see the whoremongering that this DA has undertaken to make the evidence fit the story (actually stories because she had about 4 of them), you will see what a travesty this is. These men....one of whom has ATM receipts and the testimony of a BLACK cabbie that says he wasn't even at the party at the time of the attack. She identified one of the guys from a photo lineup but said he was missing the mustache he had that night. Yet photos before the dancers arrived of the boy showed he had NO MUSTACHE. Yet the DA still pressed on....having his pre-election press conferences where he disclosed all kinds of incorrect information. This stinks folks. This stinks to high heaven. Had they done it, I would be yelling hang 'em but these boys are INNOCENT. I hope they own everything that Nifong (the DA) owns....they deserve it after what he did to them. Maybe if you ever get accused of something, you will have a jury member who says, "who cares about him, he is a hunter". I can't believe you really said that. I don't think those Duke players are guilty of anything worse than a galloping case of dumb butt for going out and hiring a drug addicted stripper to perform at a party. I read somewhere that she came to the party falling down drunk or stoned and she couldnt' hardly dance. She had cuts and bruises on her. I think what happened is that when she couldn't perform as expected, they told her they weren't going to pay her. Which I imagine turned into a pretty ugly ruckus since she was a drunk, drugged up, stripper! I believe that they probably refused to pay her based on her imparement and then she bawked after which some racial things were said by the players. Somewhere, she was quoted as saying that she was going to get her money from them rich white boys. Crimial prosecution and a civil lawsuit was the way she planned it. She found an all too willing accomplice in a Mike Nifong that needed to get reelected in a predominantly black area. This case reeks of prosecutorial negligence that we haven't seen for a long long time. I hope the truth comes out because this will haunt these fellahs. [/ QUOTE ] well, if you are goign to accuse someone of somethign that severe...shouldn't you have proof?? there is no better proof than DNA and there was none from any of them. If you are not a Duke fan thats fine...but if you base your opinion on the School they attend then you have problems..there are far worse thing in the world to worry about than what goes on at a school you dislike and as for Kobe Bryant. that case was just as fishy, i think he was inoccent, but thats my opinion. and O.J. well...if the courts didn't find him guilty then so be it. i'm not going to go around accusing a guy for something that doesn't concern me or effect my life, he had his day in court, he was aquitted, let it be. I don't care who they are or how well off they are. If the did the crime, they should be hanged. However, the premise is that a rape occurred. She couldn't pick them out of a lineup, changed her story from 20 did it to three. Then she ID'd the three and said that one of them was missing the mustache he had....pictures from the party before the girls arrived show he had no mustache. She claims three very specific types of rape...I won't go into it here. But let's say, she would be very clear what exactly happened. When no DNA from the players was found, she suddenly said "oh well wait, maybe they didn't do this and that". You can't confuse what she is confused about. There are so many problems with this case, it should never have been brought. It is like someone accusing you of shooting a deer on their property, dragging it to the road, and putting it in your truck. Only, you weren't there at the time...you were at an ATM miles away at the very specific time they said it happend. They claim that blood from the deer was spilling from your truck yet it is clear you didn't wash your truck recently and there is NO BLOOD in the truck. You live in an area rampant with PETA and the DA is up for reelection. He is facing a tough challenge so he brings you up on charges and the PETA folks re-elect him because he is hounding you. That would suck. Hopefully, your original post was just a poorly worded expression of what you really meant. Being a tar heels fan, I can understand the poor grammer!
