Bad ebayers.........

Have you had any experience?? I buy/sell all of my college textbooks on half.com, which is a site that is ran by ebay. I bought one book last semester that was not exactly as it was described, so I left the seller negative feedback and a reason of WHY I left negative feedback. Now remember, I made promt payments and caused NO problems or anything, but the seller gave me negative feedback. I should have then gotten a refund. I did see on my feedback that the seller has been removed from half.com, but my feedback rating is 95.7% (instead of 100%) because of someone that didn't like me giving negative feedback when they deserved it!!!! mad.gif Just irks the fire out of me. I sent ebay a message, seeing if they'll retract the feedback rating.....

Re: Bad ebayers.........

Sometimes you get people who are just difficult to deal with. I have limited experience with it myself, bought and sold a few things. I once gave "neutral" feedback on a seller based mainly on the fact that they never responded to my e-mail and never contacted me at all. They left me no feedback rating even though I paid immediately, and then was very unprofessional in their response, saying "That's baloney!! Every e-mail is responded to!!" Well, not in this case, sorry mack. My mom has more experience with this, being very involved in selling on eBay for the last few years. She rarely has a problem, she did have one incident where a woman just kept hassling her, saying the item wasn't what she ordered, left negative feedback, etc. etc. Well, it took some time, but the negative feedback was removed, not sure what happened to the buyer though. Whenever you're dealing with something like eBay, you just never know who you are going to be dealing with, some people just like to cause trouble.

Re: Bad ebayers.........

Not a big ebay buyer here, thought about buying some tools and stuff, but 90% of the stuff is from the States, so by the time it gets to Canada, shipping, border fees, duty, exchange rate, tax, all the rest of the crap it's not worth it for me. crazy.gif

I do agree with you though Ryan, there's no reason at all for you to get the negative feedback over that. confused.gif

Re: Bad ebayers.........

I sell all the time on eBay and the only problem I had was with a guy who said that I had switched bullets from what I had listed. He was crazy because that was the only box of that type of bullets that I ever had or have had since! I got a negative from him! I even refunded his money and he still left a negative! Some people!

I have bought quite a few items and have never had any problem!

Some folks are just that way...The thing to remember is that you never know just who you are dealing with. I have sold calls on Ebay and bought wood and other items from there...I've personaly never had a problem...I use Pay Pal and only buy from sellers that accept Pay Pal...not saying that has anything to do with my experience...I've just have not had a problem. My dad had a bad experience but after a while it got sorted out...he nor the seller left negative comments and all worked out in the end...but that's not always the case.

Read this

Looks like your stuck

And God forbid you ask a question in the forums about feedback rating...its like walking into a lynch mob. I simply asked a question one time about why do sellers wait until after you give them positive feedback before they respond with their own feedback (I felt once I paid immediatly with PayPal, I had lived up to my end of the bargain). I had these nutjobs jumping all over me about looks like you have had feedback problems too (which isn;t true), and all sorts of unmoderated nasty crap. I have like 21 transactions with 20 feedback rating left (all positve). I got accused of messing with the feedback system (however I would have been able to do that I don't know), and it was due to one person buying two items and just leaving feedback for one of them...I guess was why it shows up that way. It explained it on the website, but none of the Ebay freaks knew that and chose to jump all over me.

This is what they did not bother to read before bashing me and accusing me of crap..

Tips

Understanding Feedback Scores

Each member of the eBay community that you trade with has the ability to leave feedback for you. In order to make that contribution fair and safe, each member can only affect another member's feedback score by +1, 0, or -1.

The feedback score represents the number of members that are satisfied doing business with this member. It is the difference between the number of members who left a positive rating and the number of members who left a negative rating. The feedback score is shown in parentheses next to a member's User ID, for example, eBaydaisy (3).

A rating from a unique member only contributes once to another member's score. For example, when a member leaves 3 positive ratings for another member (for 3 different transactions), the other member's score increases only by +1.

Example: eBaydaisy bought and sold a total of 17 items with 9 different members. However, after these 17 transactions, her feedback score increased by only 3. Take a look at the examples shown below to see how eBaydaisy's feedback score was affected after each transaction.

Re: Bad ebayers.........

I'm in the middle of a mess now.

My wife likes a certain perfume, once carried by Victoria's Secret. Well, they discontinued it, and I found someone selling some on e-bay. I bid, won, and sent the PAY-PAL payment the same day, December 7. Now over 2 weeks, still no perfume, and the seller won't respond to my e-mails. Sent copies of all correspondence to e-bay. No response from them, either !!!!!

Watch out for "cheechv" .

Re: Bad ebayers.........

Ryan, you should be able to get that retracted.

We've got over 500 transacations over the past 7 years. Only had 1 bad purchase, and that was in 2000.

I sell golf or hunting equipment and buy some stuff, but mainly the wife uses it to buy.

I really look at people's feedback before I buy. I look for one's with good communication who take paypal.

No money orders for me. wink.gif

Re: Bad ebayers.........

Have only bought a few things off of ebay, but have kind of wondered about the sellers that wait for your feedback rating before submitting theirs on you. Think I would at least contact ebay about retracting the rating since the ebayer that submitted it is no longer there.

Re: Bad ebayers.........

I've had 2 bad deals.

First guy bought an item and after 4 weeks of excuses, he never did pay. So I thrashed him on feedback and he gave me a negative saying "There are some uncooperative sellers out there". Whatever. I thrashed him again on feedback follow-up. grin.gif

Second guy sent my wife the wrong set of CD's. So she sent them back for a refund which never came. I contacted eBay (save your time mad.gif) and also the sherrif's dept. in his hometown. They called him but I still never got the refund. I still have the guy's address and I'm through that part of North Carolina every couple years. Can't wait to see the look on his face when I show up at his door for my refund. smirk.gif

who sells hunting stuff on ebay here

I sell a lot of hunting stuff on eBay! All different things related to hunting or reloading.

I DO NOT take PayPal or Personal Checks. PayPal costs too much and Personal Checks are nothing but a hassle. Money Orders or Cashier's Checks only!

Re: Bad ebayers.........

When I first tried to pay, evidently I didn't click the final button, or something like that, and the payment was not sent.

I have now rectified the situation, and completed payment.

I just want to correct my first post in this thread. The problem was NOT the fault of the seller, cheechv. It was either Paypal, or, more likely, me !!

Re: Bad ebayers.........

I had bought a few items from ebay over the past couple of years but not any more after they screwed me on selling some items. I listed my big screen tv and some rings for my MIL and had them on there for several days. With 5 hrs to go and over $500 in bids on the tv alone as well as several hundred in total bids on the rings, I relisted an item and upon doing this, all of my bids were erased and when I tried to contact ebay to get this solved, they contacted my about a week later and then said my password may have been compromised. They offered no restitution or help and then proceeded to charge me $182 for just listing the items. I again contacted them to resolve the money issue since they cost me over $2,000 in total sales at the least and they just said the same thing about my password being compromised. It gets better. I went to cancel my auto payment for listing through paypal and they wouldn't allow me to remove my information for payment even though it said the auto payment to ebay was cancelled. I got another surprise this month when I suddenly was overdrawn on my checking account by (you guessed it) $182. Not only did I get charged but I also had over $120 in overdraft charges. Yeah they find a way to screw you over good. They got me for the first and last time.
