Gator
I am gonna get some bullets reloaded next year, and was wondering what would be a good bullet in the 130-140gr area. The gun is a Win Mod 70 Featherweight. I have shot Seirra boattails in the past, but just wanna try something else out. Any suggestions? My shots are typically 100yds or less, but on occasion MAY be 200 or better, but that is not the norm........
OJR
Re: .270 bullet for reloading I have been using the Hornady 130 grain Interbond and they have worked out great for me. Really good penetration. Also the Hornady SST's work good! They will not penetrate as good! Can't go wrong with the Interbonds!
ousoonerfan22
Re: .270 bullet for reloading From what I've read on here the Barnes triple shock bullet is supposed to be good,I would like to have some of those in the 140 grain loaded. Are you having a friend load them?
Gator
Re: .270 bullet for reloading Well, I found out about a guy that works in one of our other shops that reloads yesterday, so I am gonna try and get with him, and see what he if he will do some for me........ AJ
Re: .270 bullet for reloading You must trust this guy a lot, to want to shoot his reloads. I would not shoot anyone's handloads except mine. I am not even big on the re-manufactured ammo that is sold commercially. Anyhow, there are many good bullet choices out there for you to use. My personal favorites for standard rounds like the 243, 308, 270, 30-06, etc are the Hornady InterLock. You don't need a controlled expansion bullet for deer hunting. These bullets are accurate, perform well on game, and are not too expensive.
