AJ
I know they are a very tight fit in my Savage. They don't go down easy, but they do seat on the powder. Thats the problem with the ML industry. There are no standards and bore sizes vary from gun to gun.
JimT
Re: trouble with the shockwaves? You could try lubing the barrell with a little bore butter maybe? That works for me. Shockwaves shoot awsome down my T/C Black Diamond.
str8shooter48
Re: trouble with the shockwaves? I too have trouble loading Shockwave/SST sabots in my Encore. Yesterday I bought a pack of Harvester sabots. The petals are thinner than the petals on the sabots packaged with the bullets. I tried loading my gun on a clean barrel with the SST bullet and the Harvester sabot. It went down with resistance but nowhere near as hard as with the packaged sabots. I haven't tried them on the range for accuracy yet, but I figured I'd give the SST's another chance with the new sabots. I also have Nosler sabots coming in next week these are suppose to load easier that the Harvesters. After Xmas I'll get to the range and see which sabot works best as far as accuracy goes. Its not very cost effective but I hear good things about the bullets performance on game. We will see.
Guest ruffhunter
Re: trouble with the shockwaves? The T/C shockwaves go down easy in my LK-93. Never tried the Hornadys with the thicker sabots. Which verson do have, will answer the problem. The T/C's use a thinner sabot, than the Hornady. Reports on other forums is that T/C recently changed their sabots, so who knows now.
AJ
Re: trouble with the shockwaves? [ QUOTE ] to be honest with you i dont feel comfortable shooting the sabots that fit extremely tight in fear they may blow my gun up [/ QUOTE ] As long as you seat the bullet/sabot combo on the powder charge and keep the barrel free from any other obstruction, a tight fitting sabot is the best setup. Wait a minute, these rules apply to any type of bullet. So there you go, its not a problem.
