Re: how to get the smell off your hands

hey lil.. sorry, but i just thought... you should always wear gloves to clean rabbits. tuleremia is a disease that they carry. have you had some hard freezes? if not, contact a doctor real quick and tell him(her) what you did. rabbits have a bad disease that only some hard freezes will kill. don't mess with this one, but. you may be sick. and, don't eat the rabbit until you know it's disease free. jmho

Re: how to get the smell off your hands

When I go fishing, I always take a zip-loc bag which contains a washcloth soaked with a mixture of equal parts lemon juice and EITHER Lemon Joy liquid dishwashing detergent OR blue Dawn dishwashing detergent, but not both. The other types of detergents that I have tried don't work nearly as well.

When my hands get stinky from handling fish or bait, I wet my hands with the washcloth and put it back in the bag. It doesn't take much of the liquid, just rub it in good with your hands, and DON'T rinse. It doesn't get sticky, like you would think, and ALL smells are gone.

This also works when cleaning deer, so it should work for rabbits, roo.

Sometimes I do finish it off by cleaning under my fingernais with an old toothbrush.
