Turkeygirl
I'm looking into getting my own digital camera since I spend so much time outdoors I have alot of good photo opportunities, it's just that our refurbished Kodak is a piece of deer poop So what do you recommend or suggest? A girl from college had a Canon which was nice and I was looking at the Canon Powershot A530 which is better that our Kodak in terms of megapixels and zoom. It's also affordable at $150. Should I be checking Ebay or any other websites for deals? I'm hoping to find something decent around $200 or under, maybe no more than $250. The Kodak website has some on sale also but I'm looking for suggestions/recommendations from you all
OJR
Re: Tips on getting a digital camera A few years ago, I bought a Sony from Wal-Mart and it takes great pictures! At that time, I paid about $300.00 for it. You might want to check Wal-Mart and see what they have to offer. For the price you are talking about, you should be able to get something pretty good! wtnhunt
Re: Tips on getting a digital camera Digital cameras have really come down in price and the features and performance have really gotten better. A lot of good cameras out there now, and in the $200-250 price range should be able to find a really nice camera. The sony's are good cameras and dont think you could go wrong with their point and shoots, canon point and shoots should be good cameras too, but I have no first hand experience with them. Would agree with Orlan about checking at wal mart too, noticed several point and shoots here on clearance last time I was in wal mart some were priced about half what they were originally but they got to go to make room for the newer models they are stocking. Turkeygirl
Re: Tips on getting a digital camera Thanks guys:) I was looking on the Kodak website and they have some nice ones on sale. Consumer Reports suggested sticking with the same brand you are use to so you don't have as much trouble learning a whole new camera...I'll keep checking things out. PAstringking
Re: Tips on getting a digital camera Kodak is a great company but with them you have to understand one thing, "you get what you pay for." the higher end kodaks are great, this is usually around $200 and up the lower end is not that great. Shaun_300
Re: Tips on getting a digital camera We have a Kodak EasyShare 5.0MP, it works pretty good! Takes some nice pictures and it's easy to use. Mom got that for Dad a few years back and it was pretty expensive ($500 range) but like William said, they have come down a LOT in prices lately.
