Re: What type of bullet do you shoot??

It depends on the cartridge and what game I am after. One bullet does not fit all situations. For deer using standard cartridges, I like the Hornady Interlock or the Nosler Ballistic Tip. In magnum cartridges for deer, I use the Scirocco. In magnums for bigger game I use the Scirocco or the Partition.

I have never had Ballistic Tips give a bad blood trail unless the hit was bad or very high at close range where there was no exit.

In my 06 bolt I use 150 grain Rem core lokts. I've shot 2 deer this year. A big bodied 8 point at 160 yards & a big doe at 140 yards. Both dropped in their tracks. The buck got up & stumbled about 10 yards & fell again. The doe never knew what hit her.

I'm taking the .270 out this last weekend of the season & I shoot Remington Accu tips. Good long range bullet that carries alot of down range energy.

I also like Winchester ammo. If you want more knock down power you should try their power point bullets. I haven't need a blood trail with the core lokts or power points.

I mostly hunt Whitetail deer with rifles, so here goes: in my 30-06's I shoot 150 grain Hornady Interbonds and 150 grain Nosler Solid Base Boattails. In my 7mm Remington Mag.: Remington 140 grain Corelokt Ultra and Hornady 154 gr. SST or Interbond. In my .300 Remington Ultra Mag.:Remington 180 gr. Swift Sciroccos and 180 gr. Nosler Partitions.

Re: What type of bullet do you shoot??

I currently shoot Federal Classic Hi-Shok .243 Win 100-Grain Soft Points. I'm having a real hard time finding these rounds anymore locally for my gun forcing me to order them online. Thinking of going to Federal Premium Vital-Shok .243 Win 100-Grain Sierra GameKing BTSP. Not sure if I'll make the switch or not though. The ones I use now have killed me 5 deer with them and never failed me one time. 2 deer were at 200+yards (deaths in 10 & 20 yards), 1 was at 100-150yards (death in 30 yards), and 2 were at less than 100yards (death instantly & 25 yards). All were single shot kills except the 100-150yard one due to shooter error (gut shot first), but follow up shot was deadly for her and had her down within 10 yards of that shot.
