Yep, not real brite. Shouldn't be giving peta a leg to stand on. Maybe it is peta who is behind this...don't know. But opposers will always take this and run with it. They are spouting off about hunting does not reducing the herd due to does being responsive from losses and producing more fawns in the next year....

Give me a break! I hope the t bow hunters will get this removed shortly.

yes the comic cartoon might be in bad taste. yes it does not promote bowhunters in a good way. but its a just a cartoon...

do i see anyone raising a huge uproar about the comic spots done on any of the Realtree videos?

come on you know "Spot light on deer " the one with jeff foxworthy and Tbone. where they demonstrate redneck deer hunting.. as shooting deer with a spot light or shooting out of a truck door. heck i even remember one where they ran a fake buck down in a field with there truck.

i seem to remember one where Tbone made a shot out of a truck door they drug along, because it was more familiar to him to shoot deer that way.

what about the t shirts you see where they depict deer hunting and a truck on legs as a stand. or what about the one where it shows redneck fishing as using dynamite to get your fish?

we have become a society of people that cant laugh at anything any more. i wouldnt worry about a stupid cartoon that they printed in a magazine. heck if you look closely you will find a lot more examples in the hunting community.

Hunters fighting amongst themselves does no good for our sport, it gives us black eyes whether we shoot with bow and arrow or gun. Tony is right, sometimes we run off with information and take it the wrong way. Seems everything today has to be politically correct.

This is not running off with info and taking it the wrong way.This is an association of fellow hunters blatantly slamming a particular group of hunters.It's totally irresponsible and never should of been printed by the TTHA.

I can take a shot from an anti any day of the week--that's understandable because you'll never change their opinion.But to put up with this crap from other hunters--absolutely unforgivable!!!!

What's going to make it right JimPic, for us bowhunters to slam them? Two wrongs do not make a right.

I still agree with Tony on his take but that is what is great about being an individual and the freedom of speech. We can say what we want and sometimes we don't realize our wrongdoings. Granted they should not have said that about bowhunters but us slamming them is not going to fix it. Email them personally about their attack on you as a bowhunter.

look at it this way,Lou. 90% of the population doesn't hunt--they're sitting on the fence and being hit from both camps with info on the pro's and con's of hunting.So now they see things like this slamming a group of hunters from within our own ranks.Which side of the fence do you think they're gonna fall?

Bowhunting has been proven to be a viable,effective management tool and this is just unacceptable.JMHO

You make more sense in a single post than I do all year. I always try to mimick your shooting style...all the infomation you pass to me, I soak up like a sponge. Whenver I reach to that point in my life as a bowhunter, I have my practice to thank and your adivce. You and many other mods on here are the reason why I can never leave the realtree forums.

He's right about this comic cartoon, it doesn't make us bowhunters seem like a great group of people, but let them people be. I laugh when I see people like that trying to destroy our sport, its never gonna happen while we got plenty of bowhunters out there. One day these people will see what they have done to deer hunting itself and they might come back with their tails between their legs.

When people like this sit around and run their mouths about a group of people they usually get in trouble.... open mouth insert boot.

I don't think anybody said anything about slamming TTHA. All that was said was that we should contact them and let them know this was in bad taste, coming from a brethren hunting group. If done properly, TTHA might see their error in judgement and think more clearly next time.

i see what your saying Jim. im a perfect world, we would have no bashing of hunting in any form. but where do we draw the line.

where as bowhunters do we say, yea thats funny and no thats makes bowhunters look bad. if your against any bad cartoons of bowhunters, then you should be against all of them in my book.

the main reason i see so many people bashing this TTHA organazation is because of issues they have had with them in the past ( not you personally) but others. now that they have done something to make all bowhunters look bad, the people that hate the TTHA now have an axe to grind against them. they have been waiting for something like this to come along, now that they have it and they are trying to make the rest of us go along with there reasoning.

i agree that the cartoon wasnt very amusing. but if your against this cartoon, then send emails to or grab a picket sign and stand outside Cabelas, Bass Pro Shops, Lancaster Archery, Walmart, Kmart, Farm and Home and anywhere else they sell redneck deer hunting T shirts..

i would just like to see some consistancy here.

Tony,I'm not bashing the TTHA,just their judgement on running that cartoon.We don't need that or any other adverse attention to our sport-especially from within our own ranks.

IMO,trophy hunting is a whole differant game.It takes a discipline that most of of us won't or can't adhere to-the trophy hunter gets my utmost respect.BUT--I expect that same respect in return.This isn't about bashing the TTHA.If the NRA or RMEF,or any other hunting/shooting organization would've ran that same cartoon,the reaction would've been the same.

Muggs--this isn't about Peta,either.I know you'll never be able to change their opinions.This cartoon wasn't published by an anti-hunting organization.It was printed by our own.And that's bad news for all of us.Again,just my .02cents

When does a day go by that you won't catch holy heck over at AT? Guys and gals here are not nearly as brutal as some over there. That is why I love this place. We can speak our minds and our moderators keep us in check. Over there just way too many threads to watch over and keep us in line. Plus some of it is down right funny.

And Eric is right too, you have lighten up some, life is too short to hold grudges. Take the WHA for instance, I am not for it and I wrote letters and emails to get my point across. Did it help? Not sure but your not hearing a whole lot about what they are doing so maybe our voices are being heard and it will just go away.

Its Hunters mocking bowhunters and diffiantly in times now where the move to remove bowhunting is greater than ever, We dont need hunters saying this about bowhunters. Your entitled to your opionion but believe me Peta loves anything like this where hunters bash there own and thats exactly what this is. Sit back and say no big deal. You dont like AT, dont go there. I would say a forum with as many bowhunters and archers as that doing a great job. What you said about all Texas hunters wasnt right, you might reconsider yur thoughts. Lots of excellant people at both forums. Both have done well and contiune to grow with leaps and bounds. Quess that makes it bad. Pretty easy on the net. Dont click on it if you dont like it. Garantee bowhunters better wake up and realize the push to stopp bowhunting is real and is gaining support. These folks have plenty of money to buy Politicians.

Dang, you guy's are totally missing the point of the cartoon. I think they're employing a type of humor here known as sarcasm. They're poking fun at the folks who say that bowhunting results in more deer not being recovered than other types of hunting like using shotguns or rifles.

Haven't you seen any of my posts where something bad happens, like a family's house get's destroyed by a tornado, and I say "It's all Bush's fault."? Of course we all know that's not true and I'm just making fun of the people who like to blame everything on the President.

I saw that cartoon in my copy of the TTHA magazine this week, and I didn't take it as being anti-bowhunting at all. Believe me, the TTHA is in no way against bowhunting!
