Hillbilly
Knight Extreme. Been looking at it all night on the internet. I have a dealer very close to me. I want to check it out. Looks to be a nice gun. I seen on TV that Barnes Bullets and Sabots are the way to go when it comes to knights. I was wondering can you shine on this topic a little more. bowana
Re: Horst!... found a muzzleloader.... I use the same load as billkay. Try to use a bullet seater on your ramrod that won't damage the tip of the bullet. I bought the long range hunter, but its pretty much a stand hunting gun. The Extreme is arguably the best of the best.
horst
Re: Horst!... found a muzzleloader.... Dont get hung up on one bullet for your gun, my Knight was awfully picky and it took several different loads to find out which one worked best.Never tried the Barnes but I used the Knight red hot sabots, Hornady XTps, and several others before settling on the 250 grain Shockwaves Im shooting now.Not saying Barnes arent good bullets, just havent had any experience with them. The Knight bullets wouldnt group at all, the XTPs I wasnt happy with the performance on deer as I never got a pass through.Several other bullets I couldnt get to group or they wouldnt load easily with a fouled barrel. With mine I also got better accuracy and less fouling by cutting the amount of powder I used back.Kinda accidently stumbled onto that when I was trying to work up a load light enough for my then 9 year old to shoot.75 grains of 777 behind a 250 grain Shockwave proved to be the best load I found in mine for the distances I was shooting. Knight makes a good gun, at one time they were probably one of the best on the market.Id still recomend them but the other companies have caught up with and I believe some have passed Knight up in terms of quality and reliability.Thier cutomer service is outstanding, a buddy of mine had his breach plug sieze up on one of the original Knight inlines, cant remember which one now.Anyway, he tried everything to get it out and couldnt, it was his fault as he forgot to grease it before puitting it in and the gun at the time was well past being new.He sent the barrel in and they fixed it, sent it back to him, and never charged him a dime, they even paid the shipping.Hard to beat service like that. Check the gun out, make sure it feels right to you, if it doesnt seem like what your after I would shop around a little and look at some of the other ones on the market.
