007hunter
I'm heading off to NYC for New Years in a little over an hour. Should be a fun trip. We are going a few days early to get some site seeing in. I know we are going to the Statue of liberty, Empire State building, Ground Zero and a few other places. And of course we'll be there when the ball drops in Time Square. I'll be sure to take lots of pics and post them when I get back...

Hoyt03
Re: Leaving for NYC [ QUOTE ] I'm glad it is you and not me! I hope you have fun! [/ QUOTE ] My thoughts exactly. I was always glad I was not in the mix of that huge crowd you see out there watching the ball drop. Anyway have fun should be an experience to see all those sites. HarvDog
Re: Leaving for NYC You are much braver than I. Time Square was crowded enough during Christmas. I can't imagine what it's like on New Years. The city is beautiful this time of year. Try to hit Fifth Avenue for the shops and Rockefeller center to see the tree. Since you're going to the Empire State Building, you may want to check out Macy's on 34th. They have a great light show. Enjoy and be safe (stay alert and keep your wallet in your front pocket). 007hunter
Re: Leaving for NYC Well I'm in my hotel now. Took a lil over 5 hours to get here. Traffic wasn't really that bad, fortunately. I'm not really the big city type, but I think I'll handle it for a few days. Our hotel is right next to the Newark airport and there are jets taking off right above us literally every 5 minutes. I should have brought some realtree camo so I stand out. If I can find some cardboard I'll make a big sign saying hello to all my fellow realtree'ers...
