johnf
I was at Acadamy yesterday and saw some scent elemination clothing that used silver in the material to do the same thing that the carbon clothes do. I know most folks were pretty skeptical a few years back when scentlok and other carbons came out. Anyone tried them? Any thoughts?
billkay
Re: Silver thread scent elimination? I used the X Scent/Xstatic stuff this year. Worked well for me. The difference between the X Static stuff and carbon is that the carbon filters out your scent where as the X Static has silver threads woven into the fabric that are supposed to kill the bacteria that creates the scent. You don't have to rejuvinate the X Static, just was it in scent free with your other hunting gear. What sold me was there challenge to wear a pair of their socks for 3 days and then see if there was any scent to them. I have stinky, sweaty feet and they were still working on day 3. wtnhunt
Re: Silver thread scent elimination? Have seen the stuff with silver in cabelas catalogs John. Think it is suppposed to act as an antimicrobial killing any bacterial odors instead of containing them. The scentlok guy that comes in the forums from time to time said that you still have to contain those non bacterial odors that the silver does not eliminate. I had a similar post a few months back, will try to dig it up for you. Seems there will likely eventually be a latest and greatest carbon and silver lined suit. Found it here you go John old post
