Most women (I said most, not all) are very greedy when it comes to money. If they made it, or if it is given to them, they lay sole claim to it. If the man makes it, or has it given to him, they also claim it. You do not mention if you are the only money maker in the family who contributes to paying the every day bills, or is her job money all hers. At any rate, if you see no part of the dividend money, I see no reason to give in to "her" shopping spree. I can see no reason to ever "give in" just to make the wife happy. Why in the world should you be unhappy so she can be happy? Compromise, yes, but if has to go both ways. If she isn't sharing the dividend money why should you share your stash, as it was you who went through the process of quitting smoking (congratulation!). And yes, I have been happily married for 30+ years. Neither the wife or I always get what we would like, but that's life. Get over it and move on is our philosophy. She works as hard as I do and actually makes more than me per hour... ,, NO I don't see a dime from the dividen money,, this she usually ear marks for her medical expenses that the insurance doesn't cover.... That's OK,, I've gone into silent mode and will win this one from the rear.... As long as we've been married we've NEVER raised our voices in a fight.... we have our little ways of making our points.... I do however see my NEW bow very near....
