CoyoteKiller16
What works better in your opinion....A primos Ki-Yi for coyotes, or a Rabbit in distress call? -Is the Primos Cat-nip call worth the money? (controls the tone and pitch, and produces the meow of a bobcat)
wtnhunt
Re: Primos Hunting Calls? Have the kiyi and hot dog calls, and have had no luck with either of them here. Maybe it is just me, dont know, but I have had no luck with the primos calls.
dogdoc
Re: Primos Hunting Calls? i've never used the primos predator calls--I use a set of Quaker Boys. I've had good luck with their duck calls though!
WaCoyote
Re: Primos Hunting Calls? Primos are great. Cat-nip should work for yotes but I think it's more for Bobcats. They say bird calls don't work as well for yotes as they have to expend too much energy to catch birds but Bobcats specialize in it. I don't have luck with bird sounds myself. Also 1 call aint gonna cut it. You need rabbit, howlers, KiYi's, fawn, etc etc. I've only called in 3 with distress calls this year. The rest have been coyote sounds. Most open reed calls can mimic several sounds but you still need more than just one. You definately need a couple of howlers IMO. Deep tone for mature dogs and High for immature or female sounds. Right now I have 6 calls I carry around and plan on another howler, I'm also going to get the cat nip for my Bobcat spot.
Guest songdog_sniper
Re: Primos Hunting Calls? The Primos calls will work, just fine It's all on your setup and what noise that you make with those calls. The only problems that I have had with any of the commerical call is that some of them take a lot of air to make noise and that makes it a no-go in my books. But some of the primos open reed distress calls have a really good pitch to them. Aaron.
