ousoonerfan22
We bought a rough winchester 2-3 years ago it's probably a late 60's model and not a pre 64.We talked about cleaning it up and a local gunsmith said the frame or receiver would rust after blueing so we had it case hardened then my dad and my son found another stock at the gun show to replace the original that had been broke near the lever. My dad fitted, sanded and stained the stock plus the forearm stock. The gun doesn't look that bad now just looks like an old winchester. The gun groups 2" to the left at around 40-50 yards and we have adjusted the sights so much you can tell something isn't right?Bent barrel or the front blade? I have always wanted to take a deer with a 30-30 so this evening I shot a doe with it. Using a 170 gr grand slam the doe only ran 60-70 yards before going down. johnf
Re: 30-30 If it's a good group I would tell you to get a red-dot on it and you've got a good brush gun.
terry264
Re: 30-30 The adjustment of the barrel band is critical for a model 94 to shoot correctly. The magazine may be on a bind and is not directly in line "under" the barrel. Have seen this happen before.
