Wimpy Posted January 1, 2007 Report Share Posted January 1, 2007 Hey all I have'nt been on since Oct. due to construction of my new house.I managed to shoot this buck with my bow on the evening of Nov.6.He came in about 4:20 with another small deer.They milled around for a little while and then started going away from me,so I tickled my antlers together and he immediately stopped and looked back in my direction,then he spun around and started coming toward me.He got just on the other side of the creek and rubbed a tree and made a srape then he continued my way.After he crossed the creek he turned and started coming up along my side,I grunted and when he stopped I let it fly,I thought it was a good hit,but when I gave him some time and got down to check there was very little blood I followed the trail until I could'nt find no more blood then I backed out until morning.The next morning I searched the creek in the direction he ran,but no success.4 days later I was back looking and came across him about 30yds. past where I had stopped looking,turned out I had shot him at 20 yds. and he was at about 27 so I hit him low and a little back.The only thing I was able to get was the head because the yotes had already gotten to him.The taxidermist had a cape with the same measurements so I should get a good mount.Sorry for the graphic picture.
