double_H
Re: plans for home built bbq? whoa! not texas big , just for personal use. big enough for a couple racks of ribs and some brisket. i got the idea from Texas, actually...where they know how to cook. I got some brisket waiting in the freezer. i am thinking of building a fire box on the side and bottom of an old propane grill and a smoker on the far side. i just want some input to avoid mistakes. i've looked on-line and was dissapointed in the info available. oldksnarc
Re: plans for home built bbq? Probably not looking for something to buy, but something to consider. Here's a link to a place that sells an awesome cooker. http://www.lacajachina.com/ You can cook inside the box (coals on top roasts down into the meat) and/or, as shown, rotisserie on top. They sell the kits to put together and also show the instructions for putting together. A friend used the directions as a guide and built his own. He did half a hog in it and it was some of the most tender, flavorful I've ever had.
