Remember these?!?! (Cartoon Booths?)

A while back I was telling my wife about the "Cartoon Booths" they use to have in front of Walmart and other department stores.

I remember when I was a kid, you could sit in one and watch cartoons such as Mighty Mouse for a dime. It would run a few short cartoons. They looked a lot like todays picture booths. I use to love those things.

My wife thinks Im crazy because she has never seen one or doesn't remember one at all. Ive dug and dug for information or their actual names but haven't had any luck....

Anyone else remember these?

Re: Remember these?!?! (Cartoon Booths?)

I seen one of those before for sale. I don't remember what the technical term for them were. Cartoon Booth or Cartoon Hut rings a bell with me though? I know what you're talking about though, but I never was in one, that was before my time. I just happen to come from a family of antique collectors and I sometime pay attention to what they are looking at. LOL grin.gif I believe they were popular in the 60's and 70's in Grocery Stores and Pizza Parlors mostly, if I remember right.

I don't miss them, though I only ever saw one and a carnival when I was really little (boy on one side girl on the other side). I was too little to have intrest in such things boys were yucky back then. LOL Mononucleosis isn't called the kissing disease for nothing. grin.gif

I remember them Jeramie. You aren't losing your mind. The cartoons were great. Cost more than a dime though. More like 25 cents. smirk.gif
