So what do you think of Pat's latest prediction? The sick part of it is that some people really believe in this guy and send him money.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia — Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson predicted Tuesday a horrific terrorist act on the United States that will result in "mass killing" late in 2007.

"I'm not necessarily saying it's going to be nuclear," he said during his news-and-talk television show "The 700 Club" on the Christian Broadcasting Network. "The Lord didn't say nuclear. But I do believe it will be something like that."

Robertson said God told him during a recent prayer retreat that major cities and possibly millions of people will be affected by the attack, which should take place sometime after September.

"I put these things out with humility," he said.

Robertson said God also told him that the U.S. only feigns friendship with Israel and that U.S. policies are pushing Israel toward "national suicide."

Robertson suggested in January 2006 that God punished then-Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon with a stroke for ceding Israeli-controlled land to the Palestinians.

Predicting events for the coming year is an annual tradition for Robertson.

He predicted in January 2004 that President George W. Bush would easily win re-election. Bush won 51 percent of the vote that fall, beating Democratic Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts.

In 2005, Robertson predicted that Bush would have victory after victory in his second term. He said Social Security reform proposals would be approved and Bush would nominate conservative judges to federal courts.

Lawmakers confirmed Bush's 2005 nominations of John Roberts and Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. But the president's Social Security initiative was stalled by widespread opposition.

"I have a relatively good track record," he said. "Sometimes I miss."

Re: Pat Robertson

Never thought much of Roberts. Think he is a nutcase. While I agree with what John says that Iran and N Korea likely already have the ability and it might be a good guess that we will be hit in some way, I dont think the Lord is sending Roberts any messages of such, would be more inclined to think this is just a scare tactic to get more donations to his pockets.

Re: Pat Robertson

[ QUOTE ]

sounds much more reasonable than his claim to be able to leg press 1000's of pounds! Can you say Wacko??!!

[/ QUOTE ]

Leg pressing 1000lbs really isn't that hard. When I was in Jr. High I could do over 1400 on a universal gym. Your legs are a lot stronger than you think.

Re: Pat Robertson

1000 isn't that much I agree, while I say that he has fairly strong legs for an old man, he is far from doing 1000 pounds based on the weights they used in the video, plus using your arms and only going half way if that seems to help. I bet I could bench press 500 pounds with his technique grin.gif
