Pudd
Re: T/C ENCORE PROHUNTER already have the gun , good luck finding barrels for it right now. almost every caliber is back-ordered at wholesalers and retailers
tped
Re: T/C ENCORE PROHUNTER I've seen allot of barrels around for it. Cabelas had them in stock on the store shelf here in PA last week in just about every caliber. Depends on what you are looking for in accuracy. T/C barrels to me are acceptable but not super accurate in most instances. By that I mean sub-moa. The custom shop barrels are expensive so there is a trade off. Caliber is tough as you have 2 good chamberings to do most of what you need. I have a fondness for 7mm calibers and the 7 mag would fit nicely in between your other 2 as would the old reliable 30-06. If Varmints is on the menu maybe a 25-06 would be a nice compliment
deer_slayer08
Re: T/C ENCORE PROHUNTER I would get a 25-06 barrel for deer. I like that calbier. For whitetail.
njbowhntr
Re: T/C ENCORE PROHUNTER You can also use any regular Encore barrel on the gun. It is stated on there website.
snapper
Re: T/C ENCORE PROHUNTER [ QUOTE ] Cabelas had them in stock on the store shelf here in PA last week in just about every caliber. [/ QUOTE ] They had just the barrels? Because if you go to Cabela's web site...they have none! There are some barrels out there...but your going to pay for them. I've been trying to get a .300 win mag barrel for the pro hunter...none of my wholesalers have them in stock and are back ordered...and this was before christmas. tped
Re: T/C ENCORE PROHUNTER Snapper - yes indeed I was in the Hamburg store on the evening of 12/20 and they had a rack of T/C barrels. I was very surprised to see them. The only caliber that they seemed not to have on the rack was the 204 Ruger. They were a little pricy at $319 so I decided to leave them there. snapper
Re: T/C ENCORE PROHUNTER Huh...the 204 ruger was one of the few that was available for me to get through my wholesalers. I guess I'm just tired of these manufactures spending more on advertising and less on production. The T/C pro hunter has been advertised to no end...yet, unless you go to a store and buy the whole gun...its difficult to get what you want. Another example is Taurus...they have a pistol advertised on their website and also in wholesale catalogs...but they either haven't made any yet or aren't releasing any???? Oh and yeah...$319 for a pro-hunter barrel is almost a $100 mark up from wholesale prices!
tped
Re: T/C ENCORE PROHUNTER $319 for the barrels is excessive. I saw many on sale at Natchez and Midsouth for around $270. They also had several in stock - not all but several. I am always amazed at the prices they are getting on Ebay for these barrels. Definitely the place to go to sell one but not to buy no bargains there even on used.

robk
Re: T/C ENCORE PROHUNTER 35 whelen would be a good all around bullet too shoot. you can go from deer to grizzly with it and shoot from a 185 grain to a 300 grain out of it. i am getting one myself and can't wait to get this next weekend rob k
tped
Re: T/C ENCORE PROHUNTER Rob - 35 whelen is a great round in the encore. I have one in the handgun - custom shop from Fox Ridge with mag-na-port to limit muzzle jump. Shoots great too. 9" barrel and Leupold 4x handgun scope.
