Done buying new crap for bow hunting that is. LOL

Seems like every year I get sucked into new products, arrows, tips, etc.

My old stuff still works and worked real well getting me my deer in previous years.

I know my wife would appreciate not spending $500 per year on crap I already have or can make do with..

For em, I guess I am just sick of re-doing everything, resighting in new sights and arrows, etc. and gaining nothing more then what I already had...

Yea I like new gadgets and stuff, but don't need them.

I am actually going the other way tech-wise if truth be known.

Been making my own bows and playing around with traditional equipment and shooting styles...

Although buying that stuff is pricey too, you can get away with a lot less....

Esepcailly if you make your own...

JMO

But I am all done..... grin.gifwink.gifwink.gif

Re: I\'ve HAD IT! I am done!!!!

When I get done each year I look at what I can buy for next year and note the changes. So far I think I want to try mechanicals next year and will research which ones to buy plus I want to re-fletch my arrows. Other than that I am happy...then again that hunting aisle at the store is so dang tempting.

Re: I\'ve HAD IT! I am done!!!!

Thats the whole issue.

YOUR NEVER DONE!!!!

Dang industry just keeps milking us..

I swear I have no clue what so ever how I was able to squeek by and harvest deer on the antiquated old useless crap I had.

I had to buy better and better stuff, more and more...

The latest greatess hi tech widgets...

My arrows were not straight enough, fast enough nor sharp enough compared to whats out now...

My bow was slow heavy and loud.....

LOL

Its all a racket I tell ya...

All Done says I!!!! LOL

HAHAHA I hear ya man. This summer I thought I was finally done getting stuff for my bow hunting. Then I decided I wanted a hunting bag, then I wanted to switch to easton epics, then i wanted a new TRU Ball release and now I want to switch to mechanical wasp 100 jackhammers. TOO MUCH MONEY....I thought my girlfriend was bad. lol

Re: I\'ve HAD IT! I am done!!!!

I hear that. I went into last spring with themind set I was not buying anything "big" or unneeded for hunting.

By the end of summer I had a new pop-up blind, which I used once, 2 dozen arrows, went from 100g tips to 125g tips, a multi fletcher plus all the crap to fletch my own arrows, then I started to make my own bows which required me to have a $50 set of books to teach me that..

Man I was over $300 in crap I did not even need.

Glad I got the stuff, but truely, it did not make me any better of a hunter.... or really help me get by deer...

Re: I\'ve HAD IT! I am done!!!!

That's great, hey I'm a second year bow hunter, currently accepting donations of unwanted/unused items, I know my wife wouldn't mind if I received the items that way rather than buying the new stuff and paying way to much money for them, lord knows I wouldn't be upset NOT hearing her say to me..."YOU NEED WHAT? AND IT COSTS HOW MUCH?...I DON'T THINK SO!"

Communication is the key....don't tell her grin.gif

My wife spotted my new Hoyt hat this fall and asked, "I suppose that's a $600 hat?" You see, I've trained her to know I don't buy $100 hats wink.gif

Re: I\'ve HAD IT! I am done!!!!

I hear ya' man, was sameway for a way. But I came out with two things to help the mrs screaming at me.

1 - Doing what we all did as kids, I actually spill my spare change into one of those battery operated coin sorters. Belive it or not, come bow season, I got about $150 in change. I usually use this to buy my licenses and permits.

2 - I got myself a Cabela's and BassPro credit card. I use them on business trips as well as normal things. Depending how much you use it. So far, every early fall, I can log into either one on-line store and buy something either free or with a heavy discount. But like others have mentioned, I'm set with what I got, it took time mind you, but that's what make it's fun !!!
