Re: Kicks Choke Tubes??

I don't own one personally, but they are highly rated in the industry!! Just be sure to give them a call and ask which size choke restriction you would need for your gun and the size of shot that you plan on using. Charlie Boswell owns both Kick's and Comp-n-choke. A friend of mine know's Charlie personally, and he's a super guy to talk or deal with.

Charlie runs a great shop. I've been there and now own a Comp-N-Choke that I bought while there. The recoil reduction from shooting the C-N-C choke verses the factory choke is unbelieveable....3.5" mags now feel like a 2 3/4" dove load!!!! Truely awesome choke.

I can second the Stardot choke...I patterned an 870 with one a few years back and it threw a great pattern all the way out to 40 yrds...but after that...the pattern started getting holes in it...

Re: Kicks Choke Tubes??

I use to shoot a Kicks turkey choke (.665) from my Benelli SBE. It shot pretty good patterns out to 35 yards but was inconsistent at 40+ yards. I tried numerous loads with similar results. At the time, you could only use lead shot with the Kicks chokes...not hevi-shot. I'm not sure if that's still the case. I killed numerous turkeys with the choke but most of them were 30 yards or less...where I like'em. grin.gif

Re: Kicks Choke Tubes??

I have a jellyhead .660 for my SBE2. Ii bought it because it is specifically designed for hevi-shot. Also, if you get into shoot those high dollar Nitro Company shells, they recommend a Rhino ($100.00) or a Jellyhead ($37.00). Hense why I bought a jellyhead. I tried it this weekend with the Winchester xtended range #6s with great results

Re: Kicks Choke Tubes??

The big problem is that you need to shoot it to see what kind of pattern you will get! Not every gun is the same, even the same models from gun to gun will shoot differently!

To find the best pattern you will need to do the homework! Get as many chokes you can get your hands on. Along with the many different loads to find the one that works the best!

My C-N-C in my 835 can put 49 kill hits at 40 yards with Winchester Supreme's HV 3.5" #6's. But that doesnt not mean you will get the same results! You could get better, or worst with your gun! You need to run the test to find the best combo!

Great company to do business with.if you don't like your results talk to charlie,he'll build you another choke.in my experience, the brand of shell needs to fit your gun as well as your choke.my benelli nova likes hevi-shot and win hi velocity, hates remington,so-so federal.i shoot both comp-n-choke and kick's
