need2hunt
I ended up buying 4 Primos CAN calls at my local wallyword for $3.50 each. There was some stuff in ther duck hunting section that I was real tempted to pick up but I don't do as much duck hunting to make it worth my while. Anyone else pick up some good after/almost after season stuff?

LifeNRA
Re: Walmart Hunting Stuff Buys I heard that the DEALERS went in and bought all the ladder stands that went on sale! Only to take them back and up the price for themselves in their own stores!!! $40 stands yet too! Now they will turn around and sell them for $80-$100!!! These are the same people that complain about Wal-Mart's sporting goods.

All the stands at our wal mart were gone all at once about two or three weeks ago. [/ QUOTE ] For any of you that don't know how it works at walmart when this stuff goes on sale. Once it hits clearance they want it gone and out of there as soon as possible. If you walk in and they have 5 stands left marked at $40 each and you want them all you call over the manager and say boy I would buy all of those stands if they were $30 each and you might be VERY suprised how quickly they will do a price override just to get them out of the store. Same thing if you want to clean them out of all of there calls or what not, tell them what you want to do and let them know that it will have to be another X% off of everything and you might be suprised. Don't have to be a dealer, just have to have the $$ and make the offer. Also they are usually willing to do this on a bigger $ item when it's the last one they have, offer them less and you have a good chance of getting a price override and a great deal. Now as far as it just being dealers, well you can't blame them if they can pick it up at walmart for less than they can buy it wholesale IMO. And I'm sure there are tons of people that buy it up for themselves and to put on ebay and make some extra $$.
woodshed
Re: Walmart Hunting Stuff Buys I got 5 climbing stands for 35.00 each. Another thing you can do is buy it early just to make sure you got what you want. Then wait and watch as they continue to mark down the remaining inventory. Up to 30 days they will match the price after your purchase. I've found they will continue to mark down the product til it's gone. Often items will go for half or less than retail. By the way,,,,, I used this new stand. I don't like it at all. It creeks for one. It is hangs up miserably on the tree when going up and big time going down. It's has more straps and things to assemble/disassemble at the tree than their previous years stands. All inconvenient to me. The other night it took me 30 minutes to climb down the tree!! I never actually got down. I had to disonnect the top and let it fall. Then jump down from about 6 feet up to get off. It was all hung up on the side of the tree. I'm selling mine also!! MUDRUNNER
Re: Walmart Hunting Stuff Buys Our Wal-Marts were sold out of most stuff early. It seemed like they had less on the shelves this year, and most stuff was gone by the end of Novemeber, and I guess they don't re-order...once it's gone that's it for the year. The orange comes in handy in my line of work, almost bought an orange hooded jacket for $7. Good deals and they'll get better in the next week or so. Hoyt03
Re: Walmart Hunting Stuff Buys I was set on getting a ladder stand from walmart that they had marked down to 40. Went in and they were all gone except one behind the counter that was being reserved until such and such date. Went back the day after the date it was still there and left with me. It's not the best stand in the world but a 15 ft ladder for 40 bucks who cares. I also got scent wafers for 1.50 a pack, big bottle of wildlife research active scrape for 1.50, big bottle of tinks fox piss for 1.50 and some scent free shower gel shampoo stuff for like a dollar. I was going to get the hs scent kit for 10$ but I already had all the stuff so I passed. A pack of thunderheads 3pk for 3.50 they went fast and I dont even shoot them haha. HarvDog
Re: Walmart Hunting Stuff Buys I wasn't even planning on buying anything but walked up to the gun/knife/ammo counter to overhear the manager say, "we'll just put it on clearance for $2.50". He was talking about a Buck Model 110 which has a list of $59, marked down at WW for $24. Now it's in my pocket!!!
