Mountaineer
I've got a Knight LK-93 Wolverine that we've had for a few years now. The owner's manual is probably long gone since I haven't been able to find it, and I was wondering if someone here could answer one question. What is the MAX amount of powder you can shoot with this gun? We've been shooting 110 gr. since we bought it new, but I was just curious on if it was capable of 150 gr. . Hopefully someone here knows!
AJ
Re: Help with Knight Wolverine... It all depends on when the gun was made. I suggest call Knight's Tech Support and giving them the model and serial number. They will give the correct answer. E-mail Knight at [email protected] or call Knight at 641-856-2626 with the Model and they'll get a manual mailed out to you.
AJ
Re: Help with Knight Wolverine... With the short barrel of the Wolverine, you would not get a lot of improvement with 150 gr of powder. It will give more recoil, louder boom, even more smoke, but little velocity gain.
IowaDeerHunter
Re: Help with Knight Wolverine... My brother has the wolverine and he only loads 100 grain loads. Not sure if he can exceed that or not, but is is VERY accurate with 100 grains.
Mountaineer
Re: Help with Knight Wolverine... So a step up from 110 gr. to 150 gr. wouldn't help as far as range and velocity? Hmm, I tried emailing Knight yesterday but their system must have been down because I kept getting an error. 100 yards is about the farthest shot I'll ever get around here anyways, so I guess my current load will keep doing the trick! billkay
Re: Help with Knight Wolverine... If I recall correctly, my Wolverine only stated 100 grains of powder. I'll find out for you for sure though soon.
bowana
Re: Help with Knight Wolverine... Billkay would be correct. 100 grains is th max recommended load. Thats generally the case with all plunger type ignition systems. The fixed breech and Bolt systems have a fixed pin system, making them stronger; thus moving the max by 50 grains. Mountaineer
Re: Help with Knight Wolverine... Thanks for the help guys! So is the extra 10 grains of powder we've been shooting going to eventually damage the gun? I'll run this info by my dad and probably just shoot 100 gr. this season. But also I hope to get a new break open muzzleloader too sometime this year
Guest ruffhunter
Re: Help with Knight Wolverine... 120 I think on my old LK-93, but I never use more than 100. 90 is best for accuracy
