[/ QUOTE ] I would think it nothing more than human arrogance for any Christian--much less a preacher--to say that an unbaptized child may not go to heaven! Unless this preacher is saying there is a purgatory (Pentecostals don't teach that) that pretty much leaves **** as the only other option. Unless Scripture specifically addresses this (I don't think it does), it is up to us to have faith in a just God in a situation like this. We are not God and that kind of speculation is foolish. What he told me basically was that the parents of the child have to be of faith for the child to be born of faith since the child is not capable of knowing or having faith on their own. Therefore the child who is not of faith born to those not of faith will be condemned. Those children born not of faith whose parents are not of faith will not go to heaven. Kind of like Johns reference to sin and nature, maybe somehow this preacher made this interpretation somehow out of that, I don't know for sure where he came up with his notion. I do not agree with his perspective in any way whatsoever, but thought it was really kind of disturbing that a preacher who may possibly be leading a congregation of people who may be naive, would have this type of interpretation from somewhere that he felt was taken from the bible. I worked with this guy for a couple weeks at the end of February into March of last year. He seemed pretty genuine and seemed to have good intentions, I did not however agree with his perceptions on this and some other issues though.
