Guest Chris McCann
Re: New for the contest this year... I like to give out prizes to some of the audiance who can answer questions and show turkey knowledge. I have questions for young kids, teenagers and adults. It keeps all involved and interested, besides the contestanst.

VTbowman
Re: New for the contest this year... [ QUOTE ] I like the idea of giving the door prizes out after the contest has finished to everyone who's participated and aren't on the winning team. This way no person wins multiple prizes, leaving other users a chance to win something even if their team did badly. This also will prevent the people who don't even turkey hunt, but sign up just to win the door prizes and don't participate, but when they win the prize will magically show up to claim it. I think that the participation should be measured by two things. 1) if you check in with your team and 2) if you check out with them at the end of the contest with your hunting results, even if they weren't successful. I don't think participation should be weighed on if you submit an entry or not, because not everyone bags a bird every year, but still participate with their team. JMO [/ QUOTE ] Ditto Cant be said any better then this...

ky_deerhunter_77
Re: New for the contest this year... [ QUOTE ] This isn't meant to exclude anyone...but the turkey contest and all other contests on this board are meant to bring in new contributing members and to have fun. If your not going to contribute to the forums...then there is really no need to register and sign up for a contest just to win a prize. [/ QUOTE ] I have one problem with this part of your quote. As an over-the-road truck driver, I get home, for most of the time, for a day or day and a half per week, so my post is low. It's not that, I'm not "contribute to the forums" just a new member and not alot of time to post. And as far as " This isn't meant to exclude anyone" what is it meant to do????? snapper
Re: New for the contest this year... Its to cut back on new members that sign up for the contest and never to be heard from again. Their hopes are signing up and winning something but not participating. We have no idea who will and who won't participate...so we make the 50 post rule and ask for participation. Yeah it may exclude certain individuals such as yourself...but it isn't intended to exclude you...just the folks who won't participate. snapper
Re: New for the contest this year... Keep in mind that these contests are for fun...there is no real way to keep them fair and members honest...esp. when prizes are involved. Every year we would get a few that don't ever respond back to their teamates...leaving them feel like they were one member short and their team got screwed. We all live in different areas, do different work, hunt different terrain...we try to make the rules as fair as posible to please everyone....sorry we can't make rules to apply to everyone....wish we could. Keep posting and participating in the forums...you'll def. have enough posts to participate next year.
