muggs
Re: Troy Smith LMBO He did not play well. That doesn't mean he wasn't deserving of the Heismann, or any other award he won. He was hands down the best college QB and player all year, no doubt. One game doesn't make a career fellas. I'll say the same thing about Jemarcus Russell. You all need to take a cold shower on that guy.

[/ QUOTE ] This coming from the guy who agrued up and with me when I said Smith wouldn't have a good NFL career. I quote "there's Smith, and then there's everybody else." That was 2 weeks ago John. I don't care if you had Joe Montana in his prime playing back there last night. Its hard to look like a good QB when your receivers are covered and the ends are running right past the tackles like they're not even there. I thought your football IQ was higher than this bud? What gives?

All the individual trophies mean little in a team game. Smith may be the best QB, but OSU isn't the best team. As far as the Hypesman goes, I have 2 words- Eric Crouch. Kinda diminishes the Hypesman image, doesn't it?
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Troy Smith LMBO Face it muggs, your boy fell on his face in the biggest game of the year and the biggest game of his career. The whole world was watching, NFL scouts were watching, he showed them nothing at all. I thought he was better than that, you did not live up to that hype at all. Maybe all it was, was HYPE! muggs
Re: Troy Smith LMBO Oh, believe me...I know he didn't have a good game. But like I said, you can blame that on a lot of things...Smith being the least. 1. Where was the Oline? 2. Ginn goes down celebrating his TD? That just took away our biggest offensive threat. 3. Most importantly. We have two great RB's...how many carries did they have? Pittmann under 10, and Wells 0. Seeing how intense that rush was from the outside, a few draw plays would have gained a good 10 yards. 4. When you can get that kind of pressure from your D-line and drop everyone else into pass coverage...you will win 100% of the time. The only reason the Buckeyes lost that game was..........COACHING. muggs
Re: Troy Smith LMBO [ QUOTE ] Hey muggs, you know what the MAXIMUM EFFECTIVE RANGE of an excuse is?? 0 METERS!!!!!!!!!! [/ QUOTE ] Jason, the fact they were out coached is not an excuse, its a reason. The reason they lost. this is an excuse: 51 days of wining, dining, reading newspaper articles about how good you are, signing papers with the NFL, and hearing about how many points you'll beat the Gators by worked to the advantage of the overlooked underdog. Troy Smith missed 3 practices due to having to attend various award ceremonies.
Guest GATORBAIT
Re: Troy Smith LMBO alright. one thats ginns fault.if he would act like hes scored a td before that wouldnt have happened. and wells did have two carries. but as far as blame you put it all on smith. hes the "heisman" winner.hes supposed to be a leader.last night when they showed him on the sidelines he had no emotion, like he didnt even want to be there
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Troy Smith LMBO As Allen Iverson would say, "Practice, we sitting around here talking about Practice, I's a franchise player and we're talking about Practice!!" Missing 3 or not Muggs, it would not have matter, I don't think anything that Florida was doing to them was going to be covered on those days he missed practice. They got a whopping plain and simple, a much better team beat them, I was surprised but so was everyone else. Give Florida credit, they came to play and now all Ohio can do is come up with excuses! He's always even keel. When they're winning its a good thing. I would have liked to see some more emotion from him though...from anyone actually. Don't even get me started about Ginn. That was just plain stupid. Not to mention, and I do hate to question the kid's heart, but when he came jogging back on to the field...I didn't see a limp and he looked alright to me. Where'd the limp come from 5 minutes later? Why the crutches and boot? I sorta have to wonder if he was thinking about his draft status more than the game.
