disturbing

today when i was driving home from work i took the backroads to look for deer. well i finally saw one but was compltetly shocked, i look up ahead and see a four point standing by the road waiting to cross, paceing back and forth. i slow down to take a look and no joke, all of its intestines were hanging out out of its chest! i felt so bad for it i was about to take a risky step and just pull over and shoot it to put it out of its misery but this was on a very busy road and i would deifantly be in a jail cell right about now LOL i was absolutely disgusted though, i mean it wasnt just a little piece either, it was the whole thing. the only explanation i can think of is some unethical hunter( and i use that term loosely ) took a texas heart shot, missed all the vitals, but the bullet pulled the intestines out the exit wound....a sad thing to witness and more disturbing considering the animal will most likely die a slow painful death, and also because acts like this give hunters a really bad name especially around here where its full of liberals

Re: disturbing

Our police/troopers have been know to come out and take care of a deer in this situation if someone just gives them a call. They do it fairly frequently, as my buddy is on their list to take the ones in good shape for the meet.

Sad that the deer is suffering, but would not be so quick to assume it was the act of an unethical hunter.

I agree. I have shot deer on the side of the road that were disembowled because of a hood ornament or a mirror. Had nothing to do with the hunter.

[/ QUOTE ]Yeah i agree maybe a fence post got him when he tryed to get to the road

That was my first thought. We've had 4 auto deer accendents in my Sunday school class sence December. That's out of 10 guys. They just seem to be moving on the road alot lately.

I do hate to think about a deer dying that kind of death.

Re: disturbing

no the deer was perfectly fine everywhere else on its body, i seriously doubt it was a car, and to the guy who asked why i didnt watch it die and find it, because the deer was acting completely normal as if the wound wasnt even there he was just trying to cross the road, he had no other body damage. and this is near baltimore the cops around here wouldnt know what to do with a live injured deer on there hands LOL

Based on the description, I would guess that he may have been gouged by a metal fence post while jumping. Usually a gunshot will cause more trauma. And, what the heck is a Texas heart shot?

[/ QUOTE ]

it had to be soemthing that entered the rear of the deer and exited out the front.....its intestines were hanging out of its chest

I agree...as the intestines are far back, not near the chest unless something pulls them up there. How horrible for the deer though....
