Guest ohiostBUCKeyes
I forgot to tell you guys and girls about my buddy earlier this year. He always puts his huntn clothes in garbage bags and and leaves them in the garage with some fresh earth wafers to get rid of human scent. Well he got off work early one day in oct and decided to get a few hours in the stand and went to the garage to get dressed. He opened up his garbage bags and to his surprise he found garbage in the bags. Turns out his mom mistaken the bags for the garbage bags filled with old clothes and took about 1500 dollars worth of huntn clothes to the salvation army. when i heard this i was sick to my stomach. so he hurried over there and was able to get most of his clothes back. the funniest part of the story was they had no idea what price to put on these clothes and they were selling his gore tex rain suit for 15 bucks.. how funny is that..... Guest ohiostBUCKeyes
Re: what a horrible feeling! He didn't have to pay to get his stuff back, but he did lose an 80 dollar polar tek fleece, when he asked how much they sold it for they told him 5 bucks! That same day i went and bought a 180 dollar pair of rockies and and jokingly asked his mom why she forgot to take his boots she could have saved me alot of money

Can't blame her too much, her heart was in the right spot. I love giving to Good Will but not my hunting clothes!

Tony
Re: what a horrible feeling! come on guys garbage bags is soooo old school. 1500 dollars in clothes in garbage bags? thats no way to treat great hunting gear. with how cheap they make rubbermaid containers with sealable lids, everyone should have one to store there gear in. i bought 2 for like 15 bucks at walmart. Guest Finn
Re: what a horrible feeling! $1500? WOW...Was it King of the Mountain wool or Ravenwear? If so, that stuff shouldn't be kept in a trash bag in the corner of a garage.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: what a horrible feeling! Then again Craig, I have seen guys with very fance bows looking for the cheapest hard cover case they can find. Like Tony said, garbage bags are old school! Totes all the same. I have about 5 of them filled with my gear, that way mama don't throw out my hunting gear!! 1 tote for turkey gear 1 tote for deer hunting gear (calls, horns, etc.) 1 tote for cold weather clothes 1 tote for safety harness and pack 1 tote for scent free clothing I have stock in Rubbermaid!
