Turkeygirl
What does everyone have for a peep sight, if you have one, on your bow? I'm thinking about switching from the peep sight I have now which is one of the plastic, hooded ones with rubber tubing, to something like the Super Deuce, Fletcher Tru-Peep, or G5 Meta. What do you all recommend/ suggest? The sight I have on now looks something like this: http://www.keystonecountrystore.com/Arch.../PEP187402.html How much of a difference will it be switching from that to a sight like the ones I mentioned above? Or should I stick with the peep w/tubing? I just keep hearing that tubing causes noise and reduce speed.
tedicast
Re: Peep sights?? I am shooting a 1/4" g5 meta peep. I'm my opinion,on a hunting bow, the few fps you loose with a tube peep isn't the issue, to me it is the chance of a failure at a crucial time. M00N
Re: Peep sights?? I have a G5 Meta Peep that I got for Christmas. I tried it on my old bow and I really like it. It is quieter than my peep with tubing. I also like the blue color. The color helps me focus quicker through the peep down to my sight. Combined with my string loop on my bow I never have to really worry about the whole issue of "what if the string twists or stretches and throws my peep out of adjustment" which seems to be the only draw back to no-tubing peeps that I ever hear about. PAstringking
Re: Peep sights?? when i purchased my new bow the pro shop put on a regular hooded peep 1/4" with new green tubing. the green tubing has to be replaced every year but doesnt cut into FPS and doesnt make any noise. needless to say i HATE it. the tubing came off and smacked me in the eye. i love the 1/4" view but hate the peep. now when i talked to the guy who set my bow up i asked about putting a tubeless peep on my bow and he said, "i will do it but when you come back complaining of threads in your eye because it came undone then i will charge you to put the tube peep back on!!" anyone ever have problems with the tubless peeps?? i really dont mean to hijack but i guess its on the same topic. tedicast
Re: Peep sights?? a tubeless peep is all i have ever shot,,, the only problems i have ever had is when using lesser quality strings, I have had trouble with peep rotation. no problem at all since I switched to vapor trail strings and cables

Turkeygirl
Re: Peep sights?? Hmmm..Well I just have the factory string on mine and it will stay that way until I need to replace the string....are factory strings "lesser quality"? Oh, I checked my peep on theb ow last night and it measures 1/4" so I'm assuming stick with that size. Another thing, is it possible to put a peep in myself or I should I just take the bow to the shop where I'll have them put a string loop on, andh ave them put the peep on to? hoytman26
Re: Peep sights?? You will only lose about 7 fps with a tube. Stick with the tube its worth it knowing that it will open every time. A friend of mine this year took out his peep alligner and used the peep we use for 3-d and it didnt open because the cold air. You dont want to draw back on a dream buck and let something like your peep cause you the big boy!!!!
Turkeygirl
Re: Peep sights?? Yeah, I think I'm going to stick with tubing for now and just get a newer peep with tubing. I heard that unless you have a good set of strings, the no tubing peeps will be pain when aligning them because factory strings aren't as good... buckee
Re: Peep sights?? This is the one I use now, but I think I might change to the Shurz 2x2. Shurz 3 Slot Peep small 1/8" or Large 3/16" I like the larger one for low light conditions. * Shurz 3 Slot Peep * Designed so you can see through it no matter how the string is turned * Available in 5 sizes ============================================= Shurz 2 x 2 Peep small 1/8" or Large 3/16" I like the larger one for low light conditions. * Designed to work with the new strings that do not twist when being drawn. * Available in 5 sizes
Guest realtrhunter
Re: Peep sights?? Anyone had any experiance with the back sights that go on your riser. They replace the peep sight. Saw an article on them in Peterson's Bowhunting magazine.
wtnhunt
Re: Peep sights?? Had a super deuce with the aligner on my bow, but ended up changing to an allen peep with the tubing. Got the wife a G-5 meta site. Will put it in for her when I can get some more serving string.
